Congrats on getting permission from SWMBO for your dio, that's great news on a massive project. My only question is why do you deserve it? Please let me know so that I can do it as well and also get into some of that deserving.

Oh and on the Battle of the Atlantic, I have AM TBF-1C Avenger with markings for the Nth Atlantic sitting in the stash waiting for an excuse to pull it out. Next year is probably a good idea though.

Cheers

I could build that S-100 sitting on my shelf right now.. they prowled parts of the atlantic coast in France and Italy...

On the Ju-87 - almost done! everything is for the most part painted, I am waiting for the landing gear to dry before attaching them then all the small bits go on. I think I am going to try Rick's trick of masking tape for the canopy braces... I need to look at it one more time though. Hopefully will be finished before tomorrow night!

Hmmm, an Atlantic Battle GB might be interesting. But not for a while. Next year sounds about right for me Smile [:)].

That sounds cool Jules. I built a 1/350 Bismarck a while ago, so maybe a Tirpitz or HMS Hood could keep it company...... BTW, I have a 1/400 kit of the Titanic that I'm gonna start one of these days. It'd go good with the atlantic thing if it was 30 years later.
An accurate miniatures TBM in atlantic scheme would be nice too. Or even an SBD......

Tom Yeah mate Old "Kremps" has been a real help to my modeling skills, although she has a tendency to be a little rough with the kits what with those dangerous thighs of hers........
BTW i like that colour and you right it would be a good colour for a nightfighter........

Darren How dare you spend time on a different siteShock [:O]Shock [:O]Shock [:O]Shock [:O] You can be expecting a midnight visit tonight in your ward from me and HER, we won't be after you we'll be after Charlie

Darren, no you are not allowed to mention Hyperscale ( I refer to it as Hyperwail ) on this Forum. The FSM Police may be at your door any moment Smile [:)]. A very cool scheme BTW, but Xtracolor paints are near impossible to find around here.

Hi all, I saw this on Hyperscale (oops am I allowed to say that) this morning and thought it might be useful for anyone doing a Commonwealth AFV with a Caunter Scheme paint job.

oh yeah ---- here is the pic of the P-47 with gunmetal primer... it actually looks a bit more bluish black in real life but I couldn't get the pic to transform just right... a bit more black and I think it would work good for a nightfighter scheme... as it is it has a bit of depth to it which I like, it doesn't look so monotone!

Look great Jules!!! question: how did you mask that straight of a line on that intake on the fuselage side of the last set of pics... a compound curve isn't the easiest to mask!!

BTW: did I hear someone mention Kremps??? Whistling [:-^]

Jules Thanks mate. I'm looking forward to seeing some pics ttoo.

Tom Thanks for the tip, I'm interested to see how it comes out. And, doesn't matter about off topic around here. We spend more time off topic than on it seems. Especially if a certain "big-boned" nurse is mentioned..........

Jules can't wait!! As for myself I got nothing done for this build.

I did respray the primer on the P-47 for the NA build (I sanded it with 2000 grit to get out a blemish) and couldn't find my Gloss Black (I think I picked up a flat black that was in the gloss bin last weekend) so I decided "hmm... gunmental is a glossy bluish black and if it doesnt work I can always use this kit for practice since I have another copy of it"

It came out the most interesting dark grey with a hint of blue...... in fact I am thinking of the next night fighter I do, using gunmetal plus a bit of black to darken it more. I'll take a pic of the color once it has dried enough to handle.

I know it's off topic but it could fit into a lot of GB's if it works out right!!!

Wow Rick the cockpit on your 109 looks great. Well done on a really nice paint and detailing job there.
I hear what you're saying about the old modeling budget, mine is in a bit of a recession at the moment.

Cheers
