I see that ththe title for this GB is for the Swift patrol boat, but I also see references to the PBR. Is this limited to the Swift (PCF) or is it open to other riverine craft? I currently have two Swifts, a Vietnamese FOM (aka RAG boat), and a Junk model underway, and would be interested in joining this party if it's still open.

Thanks,

JR

i think im going to be doing the 107.i sat down with my dad who was a squad leader for a group of Mk I's during vietnam..he is giving me pinpoint info on where everything was on the ship, and whats different..the front gun will have to be changed from a 50 cal to a 30 cal..other than that, i think im almost ready to start painting and building..

im building right from the box too, but i think i may do a MK 1 instead..the only difference between the MK 1 and MK 2 is the front gun..i think it was a 30 cal instead of the the 50.im working on this build plus a destroyer build, and am getting ready for the pearl harbor build..sheesh, 3 builds to do, i gotta get cracking..will keep you all updated with progress.

Big Smile [:D] your rusting is good, but i think it would be better around the bottom of the doors and the scuper areas, and the ancher area, any place that would have a lot of use.but it still looks real good.Big Smile [:D]

finally some progress pics!Big Smile [:D]

this is how I blacked out the back sides of windows. I stuck 'em on a long piece of tape to prevent overspray and then ABed it.

this is how I paint the lifesavers. first is the "rough draft" by going off of the intended painting space. always paint the highest surface first. I panifully figured that out by not painting the white straps first.
here's what it looks like on the model

this is how it looks on the finished lifesaver

and the backside decals

the grey paint is on, and the black waterling part is on too.
all of the decals are on except for the USA flag decal.
I purposely took a brush and brushed paint on some areas for the quick field applied rough look.
next comes the installation of the windows and the weathering.
BTW, the top and bottom aren't joined together yet

whew!Big Smile [:D]

wow! your's is looking awesome!
