Greetings, Tally ho, Horrido as the case may be:
Despite all rumors to the contrary, I am not missing in action.
Indeed, I have been closely following the trials and progress with keen
interest. I have only one thing to say, some of you people really
need to get a job!
Just kidding, I remember fondly
the days when I had what seemed endless hours to devote to my
passion. Funny thing, I seemed to be doing better work
today. Go figure.
Karl, I stand in awe of your work. Very nice, I can't wait to see the finished result.
Marc, I about sprayed coffee all over the monitor when I read your
post. Been there, done that. You would have thought I would
have learned not to do that the first time!
Dave, Murphy's Second Law of Modeling: "The smallest part, which
is the most important one to the entire kit, will go flying across the
room when you attempt to cut it from the sprue." This doubles by
a factor of at least 2 in the case of PE
Darren, having visited your fine city for the F1 race, I am well aware
that while the rest of the world thinks they know how to party, Aussies
have moved it to an art form.
Meanwhile, back at the aerodrome your slowest progressing kit is
actually making progress. The Hase Huri is coming along.... oh so
slowly.
Yes indeed, the PE is attached to the seat, actually the whole seat is
PE. Anyway, adding and still adding more PE to the cockpit.
The
rudder bar is almost all PE and scratch work. I
did this why?
I really need to buy a 2 piece canopy for
this one. But I am pleased with the result so far.
And of course, the panel needs lots of attention. I spent way to
much time cutting off the compass and attaching it with the PE
mount. But it does kinda look cool. Still lots to add
there. When I get bored with this, time to do the odds and ends
work on the fuselage. Add this PE and saw off that part.
The real problem is when the seat looks this good, it kinda sets the
bar high to make the rest of the kit look as good. Truly opening
Pandora's box.
Away I go, looking forward to following the rest of you.
One thing I have learned. When it comes time to build the 109,
only need to post here for the correct RLM colors.
Cheers!
Hal
