Well, I've made some progress, adding the vents and other stuff on the deck as well as the torpedo tubes. At the moment however, I've been too lazy to take my camera equipement and take a decent pic. The next step will be airbrushing the insides of the armored plates, protecting the bridge.

So, hows everyone getting along????  I so far have all the superstructure glued in place and now need the motivation to start adding PE once I find where the cat put my fret.  He got loose in the basement again and seemed to have walked off with my shiny brass fret.  I really am not looking forward to painting and detailing the ships boats.  I don't know why, but I really just can't get excited about it.

Maybe listening to some old Johnny Horton might get some motivation drummed back into me.

Welcome, I had no idea that the kriegsmarine had ever used flower class corvettes, so I don't know about any references to those, but you are more than welcome to join the GB, shall I put you down on the list ?

Aha.... found one thrue Google :)

I don't see why you couldn't change your mind, and if you really want I can change it in the first post, but on the other hand, this GB will be running plenty of time, so, why don't you built them both Big Smile [:D]

Nice progress Dancooper, your E-boat is coming a long nicelyThumbs Up [tup].

At this time I’m thinking about changing my original build to something else. The ship I want to build is a lesser-known aircraft carrier called the Sydlitz. This ship was never completed as an aircraft carrier, but did take shape and had existed as a nearly finished (Admiral Hipper class) cruiser before the Germans decided to dismantle and turn the ship into a carrier.

If its ok, I would like to build this ship as my new entry for this Group Build. If not, I’ll do this ship as a separate project and stay with my original kit for the group build.

Looking good Dan.

I glued down the superstructure last night and as usual, nothing fit.  A lot of sanding and cutting to get the stack to fit in place.
Some filling needs to be done.  None of this had to be done on the Tamiya kit.  Why oh why do I punish myself with these knock-off kits.Confused [%-)]

Well, at least its starting to look like I'm getting somewhere.

Not all too much progress, but still a little more looking like a boat Smile [:)]....

Hope to see yours shortly.....

PS, sorry for the bad quality of the picture, but I don't seem to find my tripod so I had to shoot free-hand.

I bought the small frets that only had communication and handrail stuff and a few odds and ends for the catapults.  I also got the Kriegsmarine door and window set which is a must for the Minihobby / Academy kits since there is just flat plastic on the superstructure sides.

If I have anything left, I could let you know.

If you don't use them all, I may be interested to have the left overs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you don't plan to use them somewhere else of course.

Just went to have a look at the bigger picture on that url, nice work you've done.
I also like the RC sail boat, been doing some RC myself too, in fact I'm designing an RC sub atm.
Keep on the good work...

That GB is cool.  I just bought the Tamiya 1/350 Bismarck and the Tom's model works PE set is in the mail.   This will be my first ship and I may need help along the build, so put me in and be all prepared to answer alot of questions.

I've build up the torpedo tubes and armored plating, added most of the air intakes and made up the wheelhouse (not going to glue it on untill paintjob has finished).
Unfortunately, I'm doing nightshift this week, so, most work will have to wait till next week, besides I need to get some paint as well.
I wasn't able to take pictures yesterday, because my wife had my camera in use for a birthday party.

I primed my decks and built up the forward superstructure this weekend.

Hows everyone else doing?

It sure was fun that day, we had luck with the weather (resulting in a little burn on top of my head Eight Ball [8] ) and I hope that maybe me sitting there resulted in getting e few people interested in the hobby.

Looks like you had a  lot of fun Dan.

I took my Bismark off the shelf last night, blew the dustt off or it, and evicted the spider that was living in the hull.

Seems I'm the first to post progress pictures Smile [:)]
This is what I've done yesterday...

On the next picture you can see that I've closed down the slots for the aft torpedo supports and used sheet styrene to create new attachement plates for the new front supports...

I'm enjoying this kit very much although I've had  to use a medium amount of filler to get the nodges at the bow close.
If I ever get my hands on this kit again, I will not hesitate to thin down most of the parts or replace them by scratchbuild thingies, the reason I didn't do this now, is because I've worked on this model yesterday, on the street, yes, not on my workbench but in the middle of the street Bow [bow]
Here's the proof Big Smile [:D]

Anyway, tomorrow it's (hmm, I don't know the english word for "Braderie") "shoppingday in the neighbourhood, and I'll be working on the S10 at on the street at the LHS as a promotion for our hobby.

I have a confession, my hull on my Bismark is assembled and primed.  I started this kit a year ago but never had the ambition to finish it.  This GB should give me a good reason.

This my second Minihobby Bismark I'm building.  I keep getting them as gifts.  This kit required more sculpting than building because of the poor molds and fit.  However, some filler and a PE set makes it look pretty good.

Well, in that case, I've started cleaning up the deck section. I've removed the molded-on ropes from the fore deck and I'll remove the molded-on plates where the supports of the torpedo recks come, since I'll move the torpedoes forward. I think this is a little design flaw, since the front support is at the place where the aft support aught to be, resulting in a torpedo placement that makes it completely impossible to load them in the tubes.

Hehe, I see, Schiess Los is convinced there will be no better sugestions for the badge Smile [:)], if it works for you, guys, than it works for me.  However, is everybody ok with the badge , sizewise ?
Otherwise, here is a smaller version...

Anyway, I'm getting in real trouble at the moment, you see, my hands are getting really really itchy to start this boat... would it be ok, would we start early on this one ???
