Question [?] THANK YOU Scott! Make a Toast [#toast]

Got to open the presents this morning; a 22 degree, clear-blue sky; 32" of snow on the ground Christmas morning here in Denver.

Scott, the Hasegawa P-400 Airacobra that you sent me is one that I have not built.  But I fully look forward to building it. Big Smile [:D] Need to start some research and looking at my options on this under-apreciated plane.

My daughter was as excited as I was; she thought it was great that I had a Secret Santa! Big Smile [:D] My wife I think was a bit jealous...... Tongue [:P] That's ok, I went and got her some scrapbooking supplies to keep her in her hobby corner today.

My santa was Rob aka Smokingguns3. I don't know how, but he got me something I've been looking at for a long time. Thanks so much, my friend! Merry Christmas!

The kit

Me enjoying my kit

Jon, I gotta thank you for making this all possible. Let's make this a yearly extravaganza, shall we?

Rob, Awesome gift. I don't know how you knew, or if you knewWink [;)] but I really like it. I need a 109 for the collection. You should like ICM... pretty much a Tamiya copy. Good stuff!

Bud, glad to see you got one of my favorite aircraft! You'll do great! P.S. avoid the Verlinden detail sets LOL

So this is what I got from Marc "Wingnut":

I never heard of this aircraft before, but it looks great and promises to be a fun build, thanks a lot. I already started looking on the internet for aftermarket parts ...

I sent two cristmas cards, one to Marc and one to my recipient, James "Mist086", but I'm afraid they didn't make it in time or, even worse, got lost. Sorry for that!

MERRY CHRSITMAS EVERYONE!

I'm at my in-laws in Texas, "enjoying" their dial-up, so I may not post a lot over the next week.

It's been a SPITFIRE Christmas baby!

Sturzkampf sent me this Airfix Spitfire IX, a kit which I really like. I plan to really put a lot of scratch work into this one. I'd done it earlier in the year for another GB, but it was OOB, so I really wanted to do another one, and was planning on picking this up from the LHS. So cool! Thanks Sturzkamp! You got the perfect kit for me!

As an additional surprise, flippersdad sent me this kit as a thank you for hosting the GB- totally a surprise to me. I thought I'd screwed up and sent him the wrong recipient when I got it! Wink [;)] Thanks so much for this- it can be built as an VIII also, and I have a 5 set 1/72 scale Spitfire set, so this will add to that. I plan to have a display of all the Spit variants in 1/72, so this is PERFECT!

And it's not part of the GB, but I had to mention this. My wife and kids conspired, and got me a P-40C kit, some decals to build Tex Hills plane- and an autographed color photo several AVG birds flying in formation! How cool is that?!?!

Merry Chrsitmas to all!

Marry Xmas to all

Thanks Drew!  I'll have fun building it!  I also enjoyed finding the kit for my, er, victim, but I'll say no more until he posts.  Merry Christmas to you and the family, and I hope your present is equally cool!
