That's a sharp-looking airplane.
Gonna have to read more about it!

So that decides it.  No paint, just stain.  I'm happy with that cuz I wasn't sure that i would be able to paint it and have it look right.  Thanks for the feedback.  Now all I have to do is cut the rods to length and bend them.  Not easy when a fragile model is on the other end.

Second,  I'm wondering if it is too far to the right.

If your image is perpendicular to the base, then I think it looks awesome right were it is at!  Looks like it is flying in from the left side.  Know what might look cool: if you could some how glue on a background image, maybe one with a smoking convoy, etc.

Thanks for the tip Tony. I've not heard of that one before. Canopies are my Achilles heel, I'm always messing them up - well, mostly have trouble with them anyways. I'll give that one a try. Thumbs Up [tup]

Paul_toz that is one mean looking insect you have constructed. As for the canopy I might try to remove the paint with brake fluid (works wonders) and roughing up a bit of bare metal foil, then painting it, attach it like you would a mask; cut it away with a new #11 blade and you have eliminated a bunch of steps (maybe) It might not work but a suggestion just the same.

Once again Good work!!!!Big Smile [:D]

Paul (RMV), I think the positioning looks just about right.  As others have said the slightly off center composition gives it a little dynamics as the viewer envisions it flying off to the right.  It will depend also on where on the wall it will sit and from what angle it will be most oftened viewed from but I suppose if this is for someone else you have no cntrol over that aspect.  I also vote for staining the plaque as opposed to painting it.

Paul (the other one), Nice build. Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup] Some kits just don't want to cooperate but it looks like you wrestled this one to a quality finish.  Congrats!

Here's a few photos for you, now that I have the Moskito finished. I was a little disappointed withe the Verlinden resin cockpit as it didn't seem to add any more detail than the original plastic one that came in the box. However, the gun bay, flaps and engine are definately worth adding...my first time with resin and cutting holes in a perfectly good kit by the way. This is a major tail sitter - the nose is full of lead and it says to also put weight in the engines. I couldn't use one because it had a resin engine in there and I forgot to put weight in the other Sigh [sigh]. Things didn't get better when I dropped the whole kit and various seams opened and parts fell off. I managed to get it all back together, but it isn't as good as it started. The masking tape stayed on the canopy way too long and I had to paint it about 3 or 4 times so paint seeped under the tape and messed up the canopy a little. I'll clean that up...sometime. Anyways...here's the photos...

Yeah, I think it might.  It would be better just to stain it in my opinion.

You know, the more I look at it the more I think leave it where it is.  Vertically it's dead on and the horizontal overlap of the tail with the edge of the plaque introduces some visual excitement.

I dunno about painting the sky though....

Yes it did have a spinner but i could not find any real photos of something like that to get a true idea of how it should look.  There were decals but they are terrible.  Very thick and I cannot see how they could ever lay down.   The thing that makes me think the positioning is ok is that the canopy looks to be just off center to the left and the aircraft is flying to the right.  Just my thoughts.  Yes, the plaque will be stained.  I was thinking of painting a little sky and clouds that fades out quickly about a 1/2 inch from the edge.

Well that's definitely a different way to display an aircraft Mischief [:-,]!  Kinda cool actually Thumbs Up [tup]

Didn't Rudel's aircraft have a spiral on the spinner?

Anyway, too far to the right or too far to the left?  Seems to me it wants to be a smidge more to the right, but that's just me.

This is 1/32, correct?  Man, that's a lot of plane hanging out there.  Very cool perspective.  Will you be staining the plaque?

Need feedback.  Here is the stuka mounted from the wingtips like I was asked to do.  This is going to be the viewing hight if one is standing.  First off, I cannot believe I got the two holes this parallel with a hand held drill.  Second,  I'm wondering if it is too far to the right.  I'm afraid if I move it anymore to the right it might not look correct.  Let me know what you think.  Oh, and also, the plaque is not exactly level.  There is about 20 inches of rod sticking out the back right now so this was about as good a viewing as i could get.  Let me know what you think.
