YES!  Dan Jayne is the man.  His P-51 cutaway is awe-insprining.
You are brave to attempt such an endeavor, especially on a ship!

I had considered doing a 1:32 F-16 similar to his P-51, but that
project is planned to start many moons in the future.

IL2... Great job and whole hearted thanks for taking up the task of doing all that.  Not that my stash was all that big but I had figured on something else being picked.  I am glad with this one though since I have pushing is back down the build list with new purchases.

TGregory,  Quagmyre built one of these in the First Jets GB that you might want to take a look at.  The GB is still on page 2 or 3 of the GB page.  The finished build is on page 11, not sure if it is the same kit (how many can there be of such a wierd subject... ?) but it might be helpful.

mph, there is a link on the top of the GB page to a guy that offers to do them for you.  Not sure if he is still doing them or not but you can check it out.

Thanks razor, I have the page bookmarked and will use it for inspiration.Angel [angel]

Hi All here is a pic of my beast as so selected by you.

On initial inspection the kit looks a bit of a dog, lots of flash and the fuselage fit looks so so.  I love a challenge.  It's a bit disapointing I could not find any 1/72 resin, PE or decals sets for this kit it could sure use some.  I'm off to the bench.

Cheers

i knew i should have called in sick today Angry [:(!]

Sir Il thank you so much for your hard work and dedication to the build it is greatly appreciated.

I see everyone has a cool build ahead of them . the wife isnt going to be happy when she sees that Big Ole Aircraft Carrier looming around lol.

Now to order some PE from Gold Medal Models for her and off to the build . i say this will be an exciting year for building and i hope everything goes as well as it has been and we can keep this build going year after year.

Sir IL i will be putting up a web site and i plan on putting up all our finished build pics. somehow we will figure out how to make an automated system for here and there and keep things rolling.

and just to think almost two months later and 33 pages of text we get to begin our build.

happy building to everyone and cant wait to get started and put up some progress pics :)

i thank you all again for making this a successful build even before we started building.

Who's the next to start?  Me, I'll have to get a couple of other projects finished first.  AccMin builds are always detailed and usually tedious.  But fulfilling.

Dave Yep the desk is quite cluttered I've got 2 CF-5s on the go plus the Lanc added to that my natural tendancy for messBig Smile [:D] Have fun with the Snowberry it looks like quite a kit.  Are you having fun with the warhammer stuff they do seem like quite the painting challenge.

Thanks Bear, my son got into warhammer a couple of years ago and last summer his cousin gave him a whole bunch of old stuff that an Uncle on the otherside of the family had given to him (did that make sense).  Anyway, there are a hundred or so figures but they were all in pieces and needed painting etc.  I offered to assemble the pieces and do the base coats with the airbrush as he still has a stash of new stuff he hasn't built yet (chip off the old block... sniff... I'm so proud of him). Big Smile [:D]

PS:  how's the lanc coming along!!!

Dave That great your son has an interest in styrene.  The lanc is coming along I'm going to attache the wings tomorrow and the post man left me a note to pick up a package.  My squadron order has arrived I ordered the eduards Mask set for the lanc.  I was having trouble cutting tape to mask the  turrets & glass bits I'm hoping the pre made mask will make my life easier, I'll keep you posted take care.

I've pulled out the Ta 154 box and had a rummage to make sure that all is as it should be in there. Suprisingly there was a Dragon 1/35 German WW2 medics set in there. Not quite sure how that happened!

I've just ordered the paints and a Verlinden set for it - resin & PE. Expect lots of questions later!! Found a couple of cheap reference books on Amazon for it as well.

Just got to finish off an A6M2-N in the next week or so. Got a CF-100 on the back burner as well, going slowly, only working on it as and when I am waiting for other things to dry/set etc.

By start do you mean... take it out of the box? cut something off the sprue? think about possibly beginning it?

I'm excited to do my Hobbycraft Spec Ops Humvee. You can never have a build without a humvee. The hobbycraft kit doesnt look too bad. Just wait till i start it. Then it'll turn right into a nice doorstop! yay!

Thanks for all the great work IL.  Gee... How did you guys know I wanted to build the Kriegslocomotive.  Whistling [:-^]  It's Just what I wanted to do!  In the High Hopes that big beastie would be chosen... I unpacked the box last night and preped for building.  17 parts trees.  I spent a good amount of time sorting them out and lableing them.  I learned when I built the Snowberry to put big masking tape labels on them (a, b, c,... and so on)  There are just so many of them and I have a habit of cutting away empty tree as it empties.  What I enevitably end up doing is cutting away the little letter tab and then they all just start to look the same. Banged Head [banghead]  I have the BigEd PE stuff on the way and I'm rip roarin' ready to go.

Looks like everybody has some great projects ahead of them.  This going to be a fun build.   What's funny is that the JU-87 was the second choice on my list and that is what I wanted (needed) to build next.  It is my brothers model... I have a nice system worked out with him.  He picks out great models (and pays for them) and I get to build them.  Smile [:)]  Works pretty good for me becuase I really like the build, and he gets a cool model for his office.

Looking forward to seeing a lot of great stuff and picking up some good tips on the way.

Happy building everyone!

well just spent some cashola at GMM for the PE but the queen says i have to wait till next week to order my paints and such. no biggy at the moment i get to dry fit and see whats what and in the mean time i have to finish up my humvee and f-16 for two other builds so i will be keeping busy staying home just like the queen likes it.

i must say i am quite pleased how things have turned out didnt think this many people would have joined up and how much intrest was shown even before the build started ! i have a great feeling this will be an incredible build.

Wow with all the kits I listed you guys picked the KV-1 weird.. I thought the Tam 1/48 scale kits were the more boring of all my others... oh well... I am really not a fan of these metal lower chasis'

Thanks for the hard work Il, and thx everyone for voting, this was a cool exp. that is far from over. Best of luck on the build everyone!

K guys, I looked at my Tam M1A2 today and nearly fell over. After getting used to Revellogram kits, Tamiya shock nearly killed me.

Turns out modeling is a life threatening hobby Big Smile [:D] But then again, what hobby isn't lifethreatening in some way? Even llama watching or super-skydiving-underwater-basket-weaving has its dangers
