Hi,

as promised, a couple of photos. I am holding it up in the air because the undercarriage had just been put on and I didn't want it to bear any weight. I should have taken the photos from the other side as the port engine nacelle is open to show the engine, as is the port gun bay. Perhaps at the weekend I'll take a quick snap of that. The flaps have been cut out for the insertion of resin replacements.

Thanks, guys!  Bombs are painted, decaled, flat-coated and installed in the bomb bay.  I just glued in the last interior piece as well, so by tomorrow I'll likely have the fuselage closed up.  Next is the engine.

Hey Guys!

Arki, that interior looks delicious. Hope the rest of the plane goes as well!

My F8-E has been sitting in a box for the past week as I've been short on time to finish it. Just need a top coat and that should be pretty much it. I'll post pics asap (which might be a while considering I'm on dial-up for this vacation!).

As promised, progress pics.  There is a lot of interior to cover in an Avenger, unfortunately most of it won't really be visible once the fuselage is closed up.  Typical great detail from AccMin with a lot of parts and typical fussy, tricky, complicated installation.

This is completely OOB except for the Ultracast pilot's seat.  One disappoint I have is the sheer number of sink marks in the interior.  They're all over the place!  However, since I'm trying to make up for lost time I left most of them alone hoping they won't be visible.  Yes, I know, bad form.

I'm not one for heavy weathering, so I've put a light watercolor wash throughout and hit various areas with Prismacolor pencils for highlights.

Working on the bombload now.  AccMin recommends installing the bombs before closing the fuselage and I think I agree.  I'll finish installing some bulkheads and tailgear on the other fuselage half and then I'll have her closed up.

Comments & criticism welcome!

Still at it in the interior.  Cripes, there's a lot of interior in an Avenger.  1/2 the cockpit is now assembled and glued to one side of the fuselage or another.  I'll definitely be ready for pics by the end of the week.

It's a lot easier to buy 'em than build 'em Laugh [(-D]  I picked up several more myself a couple of weeks ago.

I'm still detail painting the cockpit with some assembly started.  I've put a light wash to the interior as well.  I had to entertain family over the weekend, so didn't get as much accomplished as I would have liked.  I figure now I'll have pics by the end of this week.

It's good to see everyone checking in!  Kenny, welcome back!  Bear, nice progress.  Paul, yes post pics!

I'm prepping for primer on the cockpit of the Avenger.  I've built AccMin before, so I know to read the directions first.  Reading through the directions, well, holy Censored [censored] this is going to be a complicated build.  A lot of steps, so I'll have to really pay attention to what I'm doing when.  Hopefully, no screwups Big Smile [:D]

Hi,

thought I would let you know how things are going. I started a new job so I haven't had as much spare time as I would like. The Ta154A-0 Moskito has it's wings on now, but needs some filler. The resin engine is fitted and the panel removed to display it. Undercarriage is almost done and will be stored until it is needed. Next is filler on the wings, fit the dropped flaps, masking the canopy and fitting, then a base coat of paint. I'll put up some images when I get the chance.

Thanks Dave & J-M

Dave yup I love silly putty for irregular camo paterns.  I hate having to trim tape.

J-M  I'm using a combination of silly putty, tamiya and green painters tape to mask.

Enjoy your day.

Cheers

Hey guys, I'm going on vacation for a few weeks and have decided to take my modeling with me. I know, I know, it's risky. But I just changed my middle name to "Danger", so everything should turn out okay. I packed the Crusader in a box with packing peanuts to keep it semi-safe. It doesn't have many details on it yet, so it should survive. I also decided to take along my Trumpeter AS-90 which I'll hope to finish. It's only about... oh... tied for 6th (along with 4 others) on the voting list. We'll say the others are "lost" but "in plain sight" until I return Wink [;)]

I packed all the tools I think I'll need- which doesn't seem like much. Just think of how many things I'll be stupid enough to leave behind. At least there's a store there that sells a few low-grade modeling supplies in case I need anything basic.

So tomorrow I embark upon my great expedition to build a model away from home. Wish me luck, woot!

Ironically enough, I labeled them.  But first I have to unbury the boxes by unpacking the more "important" stuff.  You know, plates, silverware, bed to sleep on Wink [;)]

Update:  I found the Avenger, unpacked all my modeling supplies and equipment, and probably will have a spot clear for building by this weekend.  It's been a long 3 month hiatus.
