Nuc, it is the Hasegawa kit.  I have the fuselage closed up and wings on, and the fit couldn't be better.  I agree with you on the cockpit opening.  The IP completely disappeared Sad [:(] but the seat is still visible.  The Schnellboot looks really cool.  I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Razor, thanks!  Snowberry lives!

Bear, oh yeah, I hope to have the Macchi finished by beginning of October, if not sooner.  Once I start building I'm relentless Big Smile [:D]

Hey fellas.....I am still alive. My 162 poject has been put on hold for the next 14 months and change. I made it down to the sandbox. All is well here. I didn't want to ship my project down here because it was nearing completion and I didn't want to have to redo all the stuff mps would have messed up transporting it here. I am trying to have some kits shipped from baghdad....we can have our own little club up where I am . So I will submit a new project for vote...uhhh.....as soon as I have one. I will try to post some picture of other modeling project s the other guys in the unit are working. Enjoy fellas......JOSH

Thank you for your service.  Keep safe over there!   Good to hear that you have your own little model club over there!

Send a mailing address - I for one would be happy to thin the Stash a bit and send a few kits over to you guys.  I know that there is a 'clearing house' address for the area, but it would be nice to send some kits over to someone that I know (even if only thru this Group Build).

C.202 is now primed.  I have to say this is the best Hasegawa kit I've put together in terms of fit, but is just terrible with the locations of ejector pin and sink marks.  Really visible areas that were also a bear to fill and sand down.  I should have the underside Lifecolor Light Blue-Gray on by tomorrow evening.

Josh Take care my thoughts are with you.

Arki  At this rate will there be any kits left in your stash come DecemberSmile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Progress report Removed the tape & silly putty from my build (peel & pray) and things came out pretty good some minor ridges and touch ups but nothing to big pictures soon.  The F-5 is neering the end so I should make better progress on the F-105.  Have a great weekend all.

Cheers

Bear, no danger here of running out of things to build.  I still have 27 kits in the stash, with another 2 new kits being delivered!  Not a huge stash compared to some, but if I'd just quit buying...Big Smile [:D]Banged Head [banghead]

Underside color is now on, next is to begin masking Yuck [yuck] for the upper color.  Since I'll be traveling this weekend, that won't happen till next week sometime.

Razor, agreed!  We need pics, Bear!

That goes for you too Arki! Wink [;)]  We need pics!

I've been scraping and sanding away at the hull of the Snowberry but it has been slow going.  Hopefully I will have it ready to paint (and pics Wink [;)]) in a couple of weeks.

Ok guy's as requested here are the latest pics of the F-105

This one is with the mask still on or a big glob of silly puttySmile [:)]

And the results after the pray & peel

All in all I'm quite happy with the results.  The ridges have been cleaned up only the touch ups on the underside remain then I'll install the gears.  It's coming along slow but sure.

Bear, I've got two more builds half way done that I'm trying to get through and then I'll hit the Snowberry full tilt.  I'm afraid it might be a carry over into next years In the Stash GB.

Bear, Right now I am down to two GB's for this year.  This one and the Bombergruppe GB for which I am supposed to be building 4 1/72 Dragon Ar 234's.  I am afraid that I bit off more than I could chew with these kits as they looked awesome on the parts tree but once I started putting them together...Censored [censored].  One also came with a cracked canopy so I may defer that one until later when I have a chance to build a vac form box and to experiment with it.  Dragon has not come through with a spare.  Anyway, they are in the painting stage and then it is on to the Snowberry.  The other five gaps you see in my sig are all for next year and they are all 1/72 single engine prop fighters (except the P-38) that I intend to do ootb.  The idea is that these will be quick easy (ya right, when does that ever happen) builds that will provide some relief from the long arduous journey that will be the Snowberry build! Smile [:)]  Well... that's the plan anyway Whistling [:-^].  Wish me luck!

Dave Good luck for sure 4 AR 234's at the same time that's impressive.  I had 2 CF-5's with the F-105 and I put the CF-5D on hold till I get the Thud out of the way.  I may join the Grumman GB with my Tracker we'll see.  Take care.

So I started masking tonight for the upper color, went to readjust the first piece of Tamiya masking tape and...pulled up a big chunk of paint with it.

Sign - Dots [#dots]  Banged Head [banghead]   Censored [censored]

I immediately set everything down and walked away from it.  I'll try again Wednesday evening with Plan B.

Why do we like this hobby again?

Hello gents,

I have the Tiger I all ready to be airbrushed and as soon as everyone in the house is awake, I'm going to spray it dark yellow. In case you're all wondering, there are 48 Boohoo [BH] road wheels on this thing. Anyone who wants to send flowers is welcome. You know you have too many road wheels when you can use them to play a game of poker Smile [:)].

Jin is also staying here at my house. He got a 1/72 Academy F-8J Crusader from the LHS. It's pretty much the same one I built, so of course he's going to build it better just to show off, heh. His probably also has better decals because they're from Cartograf. Now, I had promised myself that I would not buy any more model kits, but Jin had to order a part from Great Models and to bump it up to $10, I had to add in a Dragon 1/144 UH-60L (2)... and some glue. I'm now almost dirt poor! Yay!

More later today... or tomorrow.

Superbear-Astounding camo on your f-105. I had never heard of silly putty masking, looks like it works really well. How well does the paint clean off the putty once done and is it reusable?

Arkii- I'm sorry to hear about your masking problem. I hope the fix will be simple.

Doom- Looking forward to see some pics of your Tiger.

Here are some update photos of the s-100.

None of the superstructure is glued yet and I have some clean up to do, but at least it's progress.Cowboy [C):-)]

Nuc  Thanks, silly putty works great and it is reusable.  The paint does not come of it you just keep roleing it around in your hands till it blends in with the putty.  When you reuse it, it does happen that a few specks will stick to a new build however it comes off easily.  Nice progress on your S-100Thumbs Up [tup] looking good.

Doom Sign - Ditto [#ditto] can't wait to see some pics

Arki I'm glad to hear plan B worked out looking fwd to some pics.

Have a great weekend all.

A quick pic of my current status.  Still need to put the exhausts on, plus some minor paint touchups.  Very close for Future stage.

Sorry about the slight blur to the picture.  I've always like the lines of the C.202, the Italians can make some sexy aircraft.

Bet you guys thought i fell off the planet!!  Well, I have been missing awhile but I am still working on the kreigsloco!  This is the longest I have ever spent working on a model.  I would say i'm probably more than 1/2 way through it.  At the begining of the year I had  this model and the stuka and the 1/35th elco PT boat and I thought to myself... self... these 3 models will keep me busy for a year.  Little did i know that i would still be working on the loco 9 months later!  I have some pics for all those months of silence though. Smile [:)]

[IMG]http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q64/results-may-vary/kriegslocomotive/Picture168.jpg" border="0" />

and my personal favorite Smile [:)] ... details where they don't show!  This it the underside with the brake linkage.

Here it is on the base.  Thought it would be a good idea to do the base before I attached the wheels.  Not really like a car... I had to make sure that all 12 wheels were making the correct contact with the rails.

The base was just plain smooth plastic but i thought that would look a little cheap.  So i scribed in mortor lines and painted to look like a stacked stone bed.  I still ned to finish the base up with some grass and weeds.  The rusty rails and ties photographed a little orange???  Not sure what's up with that.

Here it is with the tender.  OK, pop quiz... guess what i haven't painted yet?  I put a 1 foot ruler in front for scale.

and a couple others

I have been scanning through the tons of posts and wow you guys build great models!  Everbody's stuff looks really great!  I had to go back to the list because i did not see the Snowberry or the aircraft carrier?  What happened to the big boats?  Outstanding work guys.

sorry, 1 of the images did not come through with the text.  this image shows the part i was talking about some 25 pages back or so.  the part that has all the black hoses plugged into it was just 1 part out of box but with the PE parts the 1 part turned into 22.

the big ed PE parts for this model are great although it boosted the part count by about 5 billion and almost10 pages of instructions!  Look at me go on about this Smile [:)]  the more the better!
