Yeah, good point Arki!
I can't imagine a reason why the fins should be that large on the AA-9s.

Looks really good kenny.  Looks BIG!  Just my sorta thing.  You think you could put some thing in there for scale so we can see just how big?  You know... a paint bottle, a pop can, a toyota?  just something for scale.

I have been working on my JU 87 with the unique mounting.  So far I have managed to sucessfull mount a 1/8th steel rod through the wing mounts and out the tip of the wing with minimal impact to the wing.  The second rod to support the elevator is just going to be painted the same color as the underside of the aircraft.  Not enough room to hide it inside the wing.

thanks razor

i just threw a little primer over the putty to see how the gap looked and i still have to knock it down some to be even so once the primer dries back to sanding

Kenny,

where are you going to put that when you're finished? I like to make helicopters, but the blades make them larger than they really are - if that makes sense, and I have enough problem with that. Heaven knows what I would do with a 3 foot long aircraft carrier!

I sprayed the darker areas on the Moskito using card cut outs. It looked terrible! Censored [censored] So I've just finished painting over it all again. So the progress for the last 2 weeks has been the painting of some of the small bits to go on at the end - should that ever happen! I've scanned the painting guide so I could create a template to lay over the whole model to spray through. Looking at my reference books though and I can see a couple of camouflage patterns, neither of which are the one in the painting guide. I guess I will make a couple of templates and probably go with the more authentic one.

I'm really trying to get it finished before the end of the year, but is there an award for finishing IMS08 before IMS07?? Big Smile [:D]

Wow, Kenny.
I used to really want to make an aircraft carrier, but now...  I'm not so sure!
I'm glad to see you're making progress.  Think the painting will be easy?

LOL, so I completely finished the Mig-31 tonight, only to bust off the pitot
tube and then loose it in the carpet.  Tommorrow I will fabricate a replacement
and then take some photos for you guys.

Well i guess you all thought i had dropped out huh!  I finally got to this as i wanted to beat Kenny for the Turtle Award!!! Angel [angel] Seriously though, this has a lot of fine details, so i wanted to take my time.  This GB started as i was back into the hobby so i did some other builds first to get my skills up to do the Mitchell justice.  There is alot, and i mean ALOT of seam work on this.  I'm gonna go through alot sandpaper, sanding sticks, and Mr. Surfacer on this beast.  I know alot of the inner details is going to be covered but i will know that they are done.Smile [:)]  I will get this done by the end of the Build so i can start on the IMS 2!!!  Let me know what ya'll think of her.  In case you all forgot this is the 1/48th Revell B-25J.

And why do they do this?  It's not like i don't have enough sanding to do as it is!!!!!Banged Head [banghead]SoapBox [soapbox]

Watch out B-52s! There's a MiG-31 on patrol.

Done, at long last.
I am so glad this kit was chosen for the group build, because
I know for certain I never would have finished it otherwise.
The many struggles with this kit taught me a whole host of
new skills.  Now I'm looking forward to what I will learn @ IMS2!

I posted the rest of the pictures in the aircraft forum, here:
/forums/859796/ShowPost.aspx

Heya Mist, your B-25 is looking very nice.
I commend you for taking the time to detail the interior so well.

Thanks, Gents.
I hope you all noticed the shamless plug for IMS2 in my MiG-31
thread in the aircraft forum.  Doesn't that qualify me for some
sort of medal, Kenny?  LOL

As I built this MiG-31, I kept drawing parallels between the archaic
technology by which the real-life Mig-31 was built, and the crudeness
of the ICM kit.  It seemed somewhat appropriate, I amusingly thought.
I guess that there are places on the real MiG-31 where you can find
ugly weld seams and lap-joints.  Like it was a cargo ship or something.
