Might be worth picking up the lastest issue of Model Airplane Int'l. There are a couple of articles about P-39s and the Has. P-400.

Great Models Webstore has this listsed on their site but I would contact them to see if it is in stock.  If not... it takes them FOREVER to get stuff in.

I picked up a 1/48 Hasegawa P-400 (P-39) with a gift certificate I won at our local annual model contest and plan on building it very soon anyway.  Count me in amigo!
