hey man good luck with everything, even tho I think the bay area is the best place in the world to live, the crime and crappy housing market can get a little annoying. none the less I hope everything goes smoothly

It is only the intellect that keeps me sane; perhaps this makes me overvalue intellect against feeling

Thanks

Hey all.   Sorry i haven't been on alot lately.  Some personal stuff was wrecking my mind for a while.  I finally got back to the table and got some stuff completed.  In 2 weeks I'll have a much better camera so these pics will be a thing of the past.   Got the whole office put together and sealed.

Supraman, I take it you work for Princess Auto.  Does that mean you'll be coming out to Calgary for a short while in the near future?  I thought you knew the city even though your from Etobicoke.

To make the directions easier, Unlce Bills Hobby is about 5 minutes east of the only Princess Auto I know of (Barlow and McKnight).  Do you know where is the new store going to be?

Things are looking up. I have a opening at the new apts I am working at and hopefully will be in by mid feb. Cool thing is I managed to create a schedule where i work 5 days a week at the apts. and 4 days a week at HobbyTown so I still get my discount. So I am working 62 hours a week haha. So yea once I get moved in I will post some pics of my new building station haha ^_^

James.. thx for the comments guys.. cant wait to get back to building.

First of all, what a fantastic job on everything that has been shown thus far! Bow [bow]  I just finished going back several pages to attempt to catch up with this forum.  Very insightfull to say the least.  In fact, I was going to go off on a rant describing my difficulties experienced with the Kyle Petty car I am building first for this group build, and was probably going to use a few Censored [censored] comments as I am fluent in what I call "nautical language" (I spent six and a half years in the Navy).  Anyway, after reading Grandma L's and others comments, I have decided to put my education to use, and be more of the nuclear professional that I am in real life.

Here goes..Monogram made some decals for the car that I am building, but they do not provide full coverage for all of the areas that need to be blue.  I mixed what I thought was a very close match, but alas, when I placed my first decal on the car, the shades were not even close.  To make a long story short, I wound up cutting the blue out of all of the decals (hood, roof, doors, and rear quarter panels) and then remasking and painting the areas on the car with my blue.  This amounted to about a one week setback.  I finished placing the decals on the car yesterday, and I will perform a final cleanup of everything folowed by sealing the body with a gloss coat.  Once I have that done, I will install the chrome and clear pieces.  I will attempt to photograph the end results and post them either late this week or early next week.

Scott, wow! very ambitious with the decals.  I hope it worked well and look forward to see some pics of the results.

balta1, I too, am building the 1:570 Titanic.  Very slow at the moment as I have regained some interest on a Spitfire which is getting decals at the moment.

For the Titanic, I painted the decks and put the hull together.  Be careful to get the hull lined up properly as I got a large step that I have been sanding, and sanding and sanding and sanding... just to get it remotely smoothed (even with mounds of putty!).  Looking forward to seeing how yours comes out.

Yep, on both counts. I've been with the company for 10 years now. I hope to be there in june or july. PA is putting up a second store in the south end, over by Deerfoot Casino. All I know about Calgary, is the CFL team the saddledome and the Flames. Oh yeah, and some big rodeo thingamabob.

LOL! Thanks!

I found it somewhere online. There's a site out there with all the Iron Maiden cover art. I can't remember where! I ended up saving a whole bunch of them!

Supraman, in that case look me up when/if you get to Calgary and I'll show you around.  If you get here in early June, there is a great model show put on by GOMBs (Group of Model Builders)

Will you guys accept a lady into your Group Build?  I raided hubby's stash and found a Revell, 1/72 F-89 Scorpion that can be built as a D or J model.  I like the markings for the J model from the Fargo, North Dakota, Air National Guard.

Paint job looks great guy. The cockpit and iIP are excellent! Looks very realistic. Awesoome job there. Keep those pics coming.

I should hopefully have more done on my Wright Flyer soon, enough to take pics at least. Right now, most of what I've been doing is painting parts.
