Thanks Rog on the 3 K.

No worries, we all have things that allow us to procrastinate.....you have more on your plate than most. I'm late for various reasons myself.

Corsair update!

I was looking at the inside of the cowl flaps, and trying to decide whether to add some detail to them as they are plain on the inside or just use the closed flaps.  First, I marked in pencil where the inside grooves between each flap was located, using the outer grooves as a guide.  Scribed those in, then sanded them and cleaned them out.  I took some .010" strip styrene, cut them into tiny triangles, then drilled a .2mm hole in each one.  Threaded a length of thread through them to replicate the actuator cable.  Overall, I am quite happy with them.  Now, just have to decide if I wanna do it all over again for the other one! Shock [:O]

I was doing some research for my halftrack on lifestyles of the DAK in the desert. Specifically on personnal hygeine stuff. I think I found Frank? What is he doing there? You can tell it's him. Same shirt!

Looks like him to me? Anyways Frank I had a question about the PBY-5 to ask Nam and or anyone who may know. I have seen the PBY as the type of search ac that spotted the Bismark in British markings of course. Not sure what type it was a -5 ? If not did the British fellows use any -5's

I am stunned! Where is lewbud hiding at? Must be chasing waitresses. I think I have seen that contraption in the store next to the hobby store on I-45.  The one with the wigs and lingerie?

Seriously I think I have seen similar matt cutters for scrap booking in your Hobby Lobby and Michaels type stores.

Here's another image of it...

Don't remember where I got mine from unfortunately.

Bill- Here's how I do it.  Fist, I stick a piece of Tamiya tape larger than the finished circle to a piece of aluminum foil.  Then, I cut the circle.  Use some fine-point tweezers to gently pull the tape from the foil, and presto!  Don't forget to put a tiny piece of tape over the tine center hole left by the cutter if you are using the male portion of the mask. Thumbs Up [tup]  HTH!

Thats a nice tool Frank. I've been using a circle template and a #11 with which I still have a problem: what do you cut the mask from? I've tried blue tape, but when I lift it off the glass the hole never stays round. What's the secret?

Thanks FrankCool [8D]  The 109 is Hobby Craft's Bf 109B in 1/48.  It has some Airwaves PE.  Spent some time this weekend and week masking the canopy.  Then I rediped the whole thing in future again.  We will see how that one works.  When I finish the Pz I I'm going to try and finish it.  It will be in the markings of 6./JG 132, Germany 1937 with RLM 65/71/70 camo.  I want to paint the red band & white circle markings on the tall.  So Frank how do you cut out perfect circles?

Roy- Forgot to mention this before!  Outstanding stuff you got going there!  Love that P-40, now I wish I had a set of those markings. Disapprove [V]  That '109B is really cool too, tell us more!

Aaron- Yikes!  That's a lot of Vals!  YOU are a modeling machine! Yeah!! [yeah]

I think Manny is covering those girls in his Courtyard dio. The halftrack will be a /10 version with the 3.7cm Pak on it. North African theatre. Not a lot of room you are right. Recently  I also did a mass production build for the Pearl Harbor GB. The fellows there have seen these and I think I told Frank about it as he mass produces Corsairs. I forsee him doing the whole Black Sheep Squadron soon. I wanted to make one representation for each of the attacking carriers but got sidetracked with markings I liked better. I got like 12 Vals now. Confused [%-)]

That's a halftrack?

I thought it was a field lunchbox full of ancient MRE's! (plus a mini coffeepot!) Where do the troops fit in?

Oh! I get it....it's a lunchwagen! You must add Teri Garr or Jane Russell to loll in hay in ze back!

"What knockers!"
