That's great it is almost going to be like the FAA GB so many of us are there now. I was intially worried about taking on yet another project but am actually looking forward to it. Gotta figure out how to post and build all in that required time. May have to hire my daughter to type for me.  Already I am planning and using strategery to figure out how to do what I want with-in the given time. Great news. Roy ! Welcome to the fray Darren!

Look it made me smile again.......

Thanks for the information Dave.  I almost always use Model Master enamels.  I also use the Passhe H.  With the #1 tip, thinned paint, and getting close you can do very tight lines.  Last month I picked up a new compressor, Iwata Smart jet.  Now I can adjust the air better.  Told the wife I want an Iwata HP-CS for Christmas, see how that goes.

Well, I haven't exactly been "WORKING" on the Arado's.  More like taking up shelf space! Blush [:I]

Looking forward to the weekend build too. It'll be a blast.

As for the paint job on the BR 20 it took a couple of false starts and I didn't really end up with what I had started out to achieve so while I'm happy with it I'm a little disappointed too.  I ended up using MM enamels because I couldn't find the right colours in acrylic which was my first problem, trying to get the right thinner ratio and air pressure for an unfamiliar paint.  I tried using the card trick at first with several different shapes cut into a piece of cardboard and sprayed through it but that was going to take forever and was very difficult to do around corners so I decided to go free hand and after a little bit of practice just went for it.  Even still, doing it freehand took more than a couple of hours to do each mottle colour.  All together with the false starts it took me about three weeks (including cooling off periods Blush [:I]) to finish the paint job.  Airbrush is a Paasche H with a number one needle with air pressure just under 20psi.  Don't ask me for thinner ratio cause I tried several and they all sucked.

Ahem! Scary monster? Must be some kinda fetish? Whistling [:-^]

Man O man looking at everyone's recent work and stuff in progress. I guess the CAG is correct about the model building going on! Such outstanding and just plain cool stuff.  Even the Namatola is stretching into what ifs. I hear Daywalker is starting on a new build as well. A Corsair! WOW! I know Frank you have to follow your heart! That is mighty fine. Razordws? 4 Arado's Clever! Doing multiple schemes like on the decal sheets? I am jealous of your Snowberry! Roy I still love that P-40 but had no idea about the others wow! Busy was the right word.

I blame Darren! He started it! Now I have to clean my room to do some pics. In the meantime I found a pic of myself smiling! It's from a few years back.

That's a pretty busy looking desk Roy and you're going to be adding one more to the fray at the end of the month! Wink [;)]  I like the part boxes, where'd you get them?

Great idea though as I don't always have the time to check out the other GB's to see what everyone else is up to. For myself I'm finishing up an Itallian Fiat BR 20M for the Battle of Britain.  I have several other half finished kits on the shelf including an Italeri Morris Quad and 25pdr, two Arado 234's, one is a C model with the Julia parasite fighter and the other will be done as a night fighter.  I also have the Revell Snowberry that I have sort of started that I want to get serious about finishing next year and then I have some warhammer figures that I'm trying to finish up for my son.  Unstarted I have a Tamiya Corsair, Hasegawa Lancaster, Hasegawa Mosquito Mk IV and whatever my secret santa gave me all on tap for next year.  Going to be a busy year. Shock [:O]Whistling [:-^]

The pictures of what's on the bench.

Fiat BR 20 almost there...

Speaking of production lines... two of these have been finished but I got tired of dealing with the infamous dragon fit so I put two back on the shelf.

The Morris Quad and 25pdr

And the Snowberry, clear the bench for this one...  Shock [:O]  Most of it is dry fitted.  I've got major fit issues with the hull to deal with first before I can start attaching the decks etc.

The CAG and I had a conference the other day to talk about the crew and how some people think we don't build enough in the GB.  We agreed that it's not only about building models but the fellowship and bonds that we have with each other.  Some of us may have met face to face; some of us have talked on the phone.  Yet we are all friends that get along and have fun doing it.  As the CAG said, "Rivet counters are not welcomed".  So, we decided to post pictures of what we are working on at the moment.

Here is mine:

Mauve 1/48 P-40N

Revell 1/48 Spitfire

Hasagawa 1/72 FW 190

Hasagawa 1/72 Corsair

Hobbycraft 1/48 Bf 109B

Hobbyboss 1/72 Spitfire

Accurate Miniatures 1/100 Bf 109F (prepainted)

Revell/Italaerei 1/35 Pz. Kpfw. I Ausf B

There are others that have yet to be even started.  So lets see what you have in the wings....

Rodger, I just read on the ARC site that today is the 30th anniversary of the first flight of the F-18!  What better excuse do you need?  Come on big guy, you know you want to do the bug.

I agree with the Corsair as your first re-entry. I have at least played a little with all those kits and my reason for the Corsair is it is the simplest and easiest. This can be an advantage to you for many reasons. Getting back into your groove on a more forgiving kit is one but also it allows you to get things set back up. Paints, glues , tools extc. Using the old Army KISS acronyme ya know. Love the shower shoes by the way... very shiek! Tongue [:P]

Those are all great choices Roger but I would think that you just want to get your feet wet at this point with something simple.  That rules out the AM kits but I'm not sure which of the other two are easier in terms of fit etc.  If all else is equal I'd go for the F-18.  Frank has the corsair covered and the F-18 is just cool! Cool [8D]

All in favor say AYE!!!

Oh I like that! A vote! and DRat has to follow it!

I agree, but by the time he gets the boxes open.........he'll have glue on the first kit he grabs!Laugh [(-D]

Actually, I really like that idea too!

My stash really isn't all that big at all (16 kits total). But out of everything I have, only 4 fit into the GB criteria. I should also mention that they are all in 1/48 scale. Here they are:

Sometimes I honestly can't make up my mind! Guess there is something to be said about sensory overload when it comes to the hobby. But that God I got pals like y'all!

Alright, if everybodies game we can either have a secret ballot or a show of hands.
