What no comments? Hey dude! Roger has a home! A place to crash and pass out and build models!!!!! I mean What a Veterans Day for him! Am I missing something? Is it a dumpster? Whats up?

Now I just got back from the dentist and wish I could tell you that I am feeling no pain. But they didn't do anything. Poor dentist took a look at my x-rays and dropped dead right there. Best I got was some anti biotics to stave off the germs. Gotta get them cleaned then re-evaluated for some kinda plan of attack.

What a business this is. Hands you financing paperwork and makes it look like a new car, Guess I have been outta touch with how things work. Dental Insurance really isn't and my teeth still hurt until a surgeon gets around to evaluating me after I pay 150 bucks to get them cleaned. Well  what a deal. Kinda makes me miss that Army dentist and his boot on my forehead.  Mean while I'll take another night off work. How in the world do people afford to live? SoapBox [soapbox]

Man the craziness of it all. Worst part was I think the dentist was more scared of me than I was of him. Cute little hygenist though. Ask me how long I was married for. Told her long enough to lose my teeth I reckon. Cool [8D]

Where is the party I got some anti biotics to take!

Cap'n, Petty Officer Rat reporting!

Hey guys! Sorry I haen't been on the last couple of days. It's been quite a whirlwind of stuff happening. I've graduated the Spanish program and have left the academy. I'm actually in the middle of getting my household goods into the new place. Roy and Bill have my new address. Now it's just a matter of getting it all to Casa Grande in a week. The downside is that I'm gonna be a little touch and go for a few more days. But the good side is that I'll have my own place again. I've already signed the lease, and it's got to be the nicest place I've had yet! Oh, and it also means that I'm not far away from getting the bench operational again! So busy as I am, I'm excited!

Anyways, I hope y'alls Veterans Day goes well. I'll check in as often as I can. I'm just psyched over the new place, and can't wait to start on my first build since y return back here! Naturally, it's gonna be for the NAW GB!

Yep, life is goodCool [8D]

Warmest regards,

Roger

Excellent work Frankie!!!!!!!Approve [^] Must keep myself off of puter to make progress on my Corsair.

I know exactlly how you guys are feeling at the moment with the choppers. Had to have one pulled earlier this year. It was $200 for extraction or about $1500 for root canal. I said yank it! Why do they Censored [censored] hurt so much!!!!!!!!!?????????? Is it there proximity to the brain? The pain doesn't have a chance to dissipate through the nerves, it gets dealt a full dose with dessert straight to the receptors that tell you OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!! I mean shooting pain that springs you up from a deep sleep and plasters you to the ceiling pain!!!! Ok, ok I made my point lol.

NAM! BABY!  Faux pas? you? Never!  I didn't read a thing I shouldn't have. That and as long as you didn't open it your ok!.

Frank nice to know that I am not the only wrapping challenged person in the gift exchange. Dee saw me with the blue painters tape and garbage bags and stopped me. Can't remember who I sent it off too now but apparently it wasn't you know who!

Dee is trying to  find me an appointment this AM. Never used my insurance and wow what a production. Ready to use the string on the door knob method!  Geeze. I miss the Army dentist that put their boot on your forehead with a big pair if vice grips! Dead [xx(]

No offense taken Dave!Thumbs Up [tup] What makes things worse is trying to judge my painting by viewing a 2"x2" image! I tried uploading everything to a CD myself but it comes up blank. Dropping the camera off in a little while.....if the PC guy can't figure it out, I'm sunk. But he says he can.

Dittoe's on the teefus troubles! The VA has done well by me even though I don't rate total dental coverage. I often wish that my $10 lottery purchase every week will result in enough $$ for dental implants and Lasik surgery! Good idea skipping work Aaron. We hear everyday of bad things happening with lesser distractions!

Two forces that cannot be changed......turning of the Earth and a locomotive under power!

Had a good phone chat with Frankie last night.....though he turned over the phone to some visitor called Haligan and we wound up chatting longer and picking on The XOLaugh [(-D] (Sorry about yer teefus troubles too, Frankie!

I may have made a faux pas by mentioning that The XO was my benefactor in the gift exchange here. I hope I didn't overstep the bounds. I talk too much!

I DID learn, however, that the excellent wrapping job can be attributed to Katie herself! Nice! (I wanna put a XMas tree up now so I can place the gift beneath!)

No work today.....worked all weekend anyway. So if any of you layabouts want to phone.....get it done before I hit the Package Store.....er, I mean.......before I leave to drop the camera off!Make a Toast [#toast]

Looking goos Frank, I'm glad someone around here is making progress AND able to post pics (sorry Nam).

I hope both you and Aaron get you problems sorted out.  Got a minor cavity that I need to get done too but nothing compared toyou guys by the sounds of it.

Bondo, sorry to hear of your ailments as well.  Someone gave the advice of looking at all the options and taking nothing for granted just cause the Doc said so.  Sounds like good advice to me.

Dead [xx(]Well you don't disappoint Frank! Those Corsairs look like they are in the Doctors Office themselves. Really impressive detail work. The way you seem to improve on your perfection simply astounds me.

Ack sorry to hear about your continued dental woes. I got the pain calmed down fairly well enough to sleep. This maximum strngth Oragel severe pain formula is some good stuff. Don't waste tome with the Anbesol. Didn't dent the pain but intensified it!  Hopefully tommorrow Ill get in and sart the damage control  I really have a fearof dentst you know?!

Gonna try for some rest tonight now! Thanks for the pics and the empathy!

Aaron,

Glad to hear you have managed to solve two of the problems, but the most painfull is still hanging on.  If it's any consolation, I have a couple of fangs that are killing me as well.  Started about a week ago, and I keep hoping they settle down but I have a tooth cleaning appt on the 19th so I'll have them take a look.  Hang in there buddy!

For all of the work I put in on these Corsairs today, the photos don't really show much.  Made fourteen attempts to carve one wayward panel line on the night fighter, and ended up filling and smoothing it and repeating on the other side which was done perfectly THE FIRST TIME!  The other model went relatively smoothly there.  Oh, well- no one will probably notice except me.

I also did a little painting on the engines, and they are shaping up nicely.  Five different shades on the cylinders, and they are beginning to look like I want them.  Still need a wash and some more drybrushing, but they are looking better.  Then, the plug wires!  That ought to busy them up a bit.  Well, not a lot to show but the airframes are (finally) ready for the outer wing panels, and the engine is in the paintshop.  More to come! Big Smile [:D]

Well my day has ended a little better.  The check engine light was a false alarm. Kid left the fuel cap loose. (at least he was putting some gas in right?)  Back pain has faded away. But these dog gone teeth are a pain.  Years of Army dentist have wrecked havoc on them. Now the quality of care varies from place to place  but in most line units where I spent most of my time they are rotten! Most won't even bother with you unless you have a condition that effects your deployability and that is pretty severe stuff. Then nothing fancy usually just yank them.

I guess 2 outta three problems solved ain't bad for the day but most of my woes are from ginding them which I guess I have done for years in my sleep. Got it calmed down a bit now and wife gave me some Advil PM to try to let me get some rest. Missed work tonight but just didn't think I could concentrate and be safe in case it flared up on me.  Hopefully tommorrow I can get in to a dentist and get something going or gone with them.  Really stinks to get such an ailment on the weekend when none are working.  Oh well Like Scarlett said. Tommorrow is another day!  Ok there is my beef thanks for letting me whine!

That's cool Frank was just taking a break looking at your Zero update! Pretty cool. Been spending the last couple days working on mu 251 Half Track for that GB. Very intense little build as the kit has it's share of traps. I know you don't usually transgress to Armor subjects but Guy and Wingnut have just finished some spectacular 251 kits. I know you are familar with their aircraft work and they are just as fantastic with the 251. When you take a break it is worth checking out that 251 GB by dupes. Seeing them detail up a German 251 with their awesome abilities is just too cool!

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

ATTENTION ON DECK!!!

Gentlemen, today is Remembrance Day.  Let us all take two minutes of silence to remember those who gave all.

Just received a message from the CAG that his internet is on the fritz again, so he may be unable to stop by for inspection.  The ship looks tidy, though a quick swab o' the deck may help bring back the shine.  I have the deck and shall keep a weather eye out this afternoon.  Hopefully, everyone is enjoying a day at the bench building.  As you were!
