Mike the Hurricane looks absolutely superb Bow [bow], but based on the interior work that you did and the scratch built arrestor hook I also had a sneaking suspicion that it would turn out sweet.

I'll be looking forward to seeing your Spitfire.

Darren congrats on reaching the 3K mark with your posts, I believe this calls for a special issue of rum Big Smile [:D]

Cheers

I pm'd Darren askign if anyone could join in this GB.  I then read through all of the posts and then figured I'd just lump in and see what you lot thought!

I tentatively propose an FAA SB2C Helldiver using the Monogram 1/48 kit from years ago.  Don't hold your breath for it though, I'm getting back into this game (see signature!).

Thanks much for the kind words, Darren! They are definitely appreciated! Thumbs Up [tup] ....and construction has commenced on the Spit. The weather's finally gotten nice here and the wife has us both spending plenty of time outdoors (gardening, yardwork, etc.), so this one will take a little longer than the 'cane did. Wink [;)]

....and glad to have you on board, Andy! The more the merrier. As Frank said, we've got a great group here. Happy that you've decided to join us! Thumbs Up [tup]

Well, it would appear that my first stint at the bar with you guys has proven how out of shape I am in that department.  All I remember last night was looking at the surprising lack of parts in the Airfix Mk IX, being amazed at the one-piece wings, the rum pouring down my throat and up my nose...and now I'm here at work staring at the computer with a headache and bleary eyes.

How do you guys fit model work in?! ;-)

Triumf, did you host the pics somewhere like photobucket.com first?  Once you upload the pics to a site like that, you just have to provide the link to that pic and it should load in your post automatically.  Haven't tried it here yet but that's how it works on other forums.

That will work. Use the link with the [ IMG ] tag.

Looks really nice triumf. Especially like the engine!

Ok guys I have a completely off topic question for you...(Hope it's ok, I just figured you (very friendly Wink [;)]) guys might put up with it.

I purchased and am planning a future build of minicraft's 1/48 Cessna 172 Floatplane and want to build it in a scene with some water and a deck. Anyway, I thought it would be fun to come up with my own fictional small airline and make some decals for it. Here is what I have so far. I'm looking for your honest opinions (is it stupid, do you have better ideas, etc.) I thought of "Dam Good People" "Many Dam Destinations" "?" Thought the Dam was funny - (Is it?)

Kit I'll build:

My Fictional Airline Logo (to go on tail???)

Just so you know I really have very little talent of my own, the original which I flat out stole:

Also, I was thinking of repeating just "Beaver Air" on the fuselage along with some cessna type stripes or something. Does that sound reasonable?

Hi Everyone,

quick update from me, I still have not finished the decals on the Hellcat due to discovering a last-minute painting error, so paint/drying/gloss/drying has slowed me down there.

As for the Corsair.........Disapprove [V] Putting the wings on in the unfolded position has been quite the challenge. I am still sanding a bit at a time in or to save a s much detail as possible, and it is starting to look "OK". I will get some pics up later on today if all goes to plan.

See you later,

Pirate [oX)]

Darren, looks great!

OK guys....here she is, so tell me whatcha think. Overall, I'm satisfied with the way she came out, but there are a few things I'd definitely do different next time around. Still, it was a fun build and a subject that, if not for the theme of this GB, I may never have attempted. Now, I'm happy to add it to my collection. Enjoy the pics, and as always, comments and critiques are welcome.

Now....where'd I put that Spitfire kit? Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Mike, your cane looks outstanding!  I got the resin cockpit today,  thanks a bunch!  I will not get to do anything with it till my inlaws leave the end of this month.
