I need some advice from you guys... I want to create some paint wear like in the photo of the corsair above... how would you guys do it? I'd like to use the salt chipping method but I don't think it would give the right effect; (look more chipping than wear and tear.) Would table salt be too large particle wise to look right? What do you guys think?)

WOOHOO!!!!!  Got some color on the Kingfisher last night.  It felt good to be spraying again.  Let that dry for a day or two and then start masking for the topside colors.  Oh and I still have to finish masking that damn greenhouse.Banged Head [banghead]

Neu- I agree- looking very good!  Can't wait to see her in a coat of paint. Big Smile [:D]

Dave- Yes, you can build the Corsair Mk.I from the birdcage kit, that is what I am working on right now too.  One thing I have found about them- not all of them have the clipped wingtips.  I am not sure why, but I have photos of them with and without the clipped wings. Thumbs Up [tup]

I have a question on the FAA Corsair Mk I. I have a 1/48 Tamiya 'birdcage' Corsair and I beleive it is able to be used as the early Corsair Mk I, is this true? Hopefully it is as I can get rid of the current US scheme on it and redo it in the Grey/Green FAA scheme easily.

Ooh excellent picture.... I'm going to use that as reference.

On that note, my corsair IV build is going well... I took a page out of your books and did up my 1/72 PW Wasp with some doodads... which look like two copper blobs due to my cruddy cellphone camera. Nevertheless here it is.

Hey all, sorry I haven't been around lately.  The weekend GB dragged on a little longer than hoped for me and I was away for the weekend and just getting caught up now.  I sure enjoyed reading everyone's bio.  Good to get to know you all a little better.

Frank, That Zero spinner is absolutely stunning. Shock [:O]Shock [:O]Shock [:O]  Yeah, the rest of the plane looks nice too.  Laugh [(-D]

Bill, can't wait to see you build that Bv222.  It's a monster of a kit but I know you'll do it justice.

I'm sure my name will be up there.  If not, always remember it's about giving not the getting.

I got my first Christmas card yesterday, thanks Darren.

Buddy, thanks for the update.

Everyone please try and not peak at your gift until Christmas.  Ignore the voices calling to you to open it.  Aaron you can not say/blame the kids or Deefor opening the package early.

To my victim, I mean recipient.  I have your gift, just got to get it booby trapped and wrapped.

To Frank and Jason,

Congrats on 11k and .1k posts.  Somewhere along the way I went over the 1000 mark, probably during the 48 hr build.

CAG,

I've still got the Corsair II from the NAVAIR build somewhere, does that count?  Really need to dust that one off and git 'er done.

Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.
