Yes, put me down for one 1/48 Tamiya Corsair.  Any ideas where to find some decals for a Sea Blue Royal Navy bird?  The sheets I have are all either the standard US Navy tri-color or the DSG/EDSG/Sky camo'd aircraft.

I know that Aeromaster did a couple of sheets (AN48400 and AN48401) but they are sadly OOP.

X/O................I have just the very thing! Pick which one you want to do, and I will send the markings your way!

HMS The Fleet Air Arm Group Build is currently on work up somewhere in the Atlantic with a skeleton crew aboard.

Page One with Mission Statement, Roll and Gallery is now active. I hope all crew are able to stop by and check out some of those builds we have put together over the years.

In the meantime, I am off to the stash to see what I can find to play with..................Hehehehehehehehe!!!!!

Now, pour yourself some grog and I'll raise a glass with Ye!

Well what do ya know.  The CAG is back and HMS Mischief is back in commission.  I'd be glad to sign up for another tour of duty Sir if you'll have me. 

Quite an impressive line up of builds on the front page.  Over 50 of them by my count and beauties every one of them.  Slackers and nonsense makers are we?  I don't think so. 

Now THIS is what I signed on for!  Sure is good to see the ship running again. 

Darren, Mike, and Dave- what a joy this is to build with you again!  Watch out men, the CAG is on the prowl and he is taking no excuses for empty mugs and barren benches!  To task I say, quickly before he sends his undercover team to infiltrate the mess!

Year Five 2011-2012.

Five years? Where did that go? Well, here we are.  Older and wiser.........well some of us!

OK, here's the deal. We're here. We enjoy each others company and we enjoy building models. This GB will be open to anyone who wants to build a Fleet Air Arm aircraft. In any scale, with or without aftermarket parts. We don't give a hoot if your a master modeller ordained by Mr. Tamiya himself or a complete novice just wanting to find a easy hang out for a newbie to this hobby. You are all welcome. All you need to do is enjoy yourself and have fun!

Be warned though, we do not tolerate rivet counters or puffy chested know-it alls. If that's you, go play elsewhere. This is for the average joe who wants to enjoy and share his hobby with a dash of humour and maybe some good natured nonsense too!

Do you know what kind of ordnance an FAA Mk.IV Corsair would carry?  Would they have the stubs under the wings for the rockets as did the USN versions, as well as the inner wing pylons?  If they do have the pylons, would they carry drop tanks, or bombs by chance?  Sorry for all of the questions old chum, but I am coming up dry looking through my references.  Thanks mate!

I just noticed that this GB has been reactivated,  I certainly enjoyed participating in the past.  My modeling skills have taken a hit because of some health related problems, but I might be able to do something.  I'll check my stash & see what might work.

I have a funny feeling that very soon you will have all you need to complete your mission. Trust me.

In the meantime.......I have checked my stuff here and cannot find any reference to the Mark IV's carrying bombs or rockets. All my reference pics show no pylons under the wings. They did carry carry a centre line tank under the fuselage though. Hope this helps!

Hi Bob!

FAA does not include RAF Coastal Command. The timeline is non specific. As far as this build goes, only two rules old chap:

1. Build a model of any Fleet Air Arm Aircraft. (This includes the naval squadrons of UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.)

2. Have FUN!

As some of you may know, last year the Royal Navy were ordered to decommission their Aircraft Carriers. 

So, its Good Bye and God Bless to three of the best ships that bore the names Invincible, Illustrious and Ark Royal.

It was also with great sadness that we saw the last of the Harriers as the FAA & RAF have retired the harrier from service.

Great to see so many familiar faces back on board including the Admiral.  It'll be a pleasure to build with you again Sir! 

Darren, sad to see the old girls go. 

As for a build for this tour of duty I have been thinking that I need to finish some builds that have been on the shelf for too long so I think I'll pull out that Revell Skua that I was reworking and finish that first.  After that, I have a Hasegawa Hellcat in FAA markings.  I think I have a gladiator in the stash too if time allows.  All are in the divine scale of 1/72 of course.
