Thanks guys!  Mike, I am using fine fuse wire for most of the wires, and some solder as well.  Tamiya does provide a decal for the IP, but I have never actually used it.

Yes, how is that Sea Harrier coming along?

Today I actually have some progress worth taking some photos and posting. First off the bang seat is almost done except for the activation handle painting and snuggling down all the PE straps. In hindsight I wish that I had researched the seat more beforehand rather than just attaching the Eduard PE.I could have altered the shape to more closely resemble the actual seat. The kit seat is nowhere near what it should look like in most shapes other than being chair shaped....live and learnHmm

And all main colors are now applied to the engine. Next a wash and some detail colors. I am not gonna trick it out since I am planning on gluing shut the access panel. Pics of the RR Pegasus in different museums show variations of the basic scheme I used. Some with more painted area, others with more bare metal.

A young woman in New York was so depressed that she decided to end her life by throwing herself into the ocean. She went down to the docks and was about to leap into the frigid water when a handsome young sailor saw her tottering on the edge of the pier, crying. The girl nodded yes. After all, what did she have to lose? Perhaps a fresh start in Europe would give her life new meaning.

That night, the sailor brought her aboard and hid her in a lifeboat. From then on, every night he brought her three sandwiches and a piece of fruit, and they made passionate love until dawn. Three weeks later, during a routine inspection, she was discovered by the captain.

"What are you doing here?" the captain asked.

"I have an arrangement with one of the sailors," she explained. "I get food and a trip to Europe, and he's screwing me."

"He certainly is," the captain said. "This is the Staten Island Ferry."

I love that bird!  I wish the decals for such an aircraft were still available.  Especially after reading that article you sent about the pilot and the build of his A/C taking off, magnificent stuff! Bow Down

Tomorrow I think. Today I got a wash applied in the cockpit tub and on the engine so it is almost all ready to glue the fuselage together.

More progress pics:

I went back and sanded the edges on the bang seat to get a bit more of an accurate shape. Of course paint will be touched up before it is glued in place.

And I finally got the fuselage halves glued together.I put the engine cover w/o glue on just for the pic...

A couple close ups of the cockpit tub. I will have to come up with something to conceal those gaps at the rear of the side consoles. Should not be too hard to do...Hmm

and a shot with the wings slipped on to get an idea of final shape...Whistling

I changed my mind about the Wyvern, it wasn't ugly enough so I've gone for a Gannet instead, Revell 1/72 kit plus a little bit of PE for straps etc.

I did some sanding and scribing on the fuselage to replace lost detail. Nothing worth showing so far on that.

And some touch up painting on the bang seat after the sanding I did last week Itlooksbtternow and is pretty much ready to install...

OK, here's the deal. We're here. We enjoy each others company and we enjoy building models. This GB will be open to anyone who wants to build a Fleet Air Arm aircraft. In any scale, with or without aftermarket parts. We don't give a hoot if your a master modeller ordained by Mr. Tamiya himself or a complete novice just wanting to find a easy hang out for a newbie to this hobby. You are all welcome. All you need to do is enjoy yourself and have fun!

AAACCCKKK!!!  Almost dropped to page two, this WILL NOT DO!!!

Right, some progress this weekend on the Corsair.  The cockpit is nearly finished, just waiting for the white oil paint to dry on the IP before sealing them in with an epoxy lens.  When using this technique, always make sure the paints are absolutely dry!  Otherwise, the curing epoxy will smear them around (don't ask me how I know this.) Sure feels good to have a Corsair on the bench again.  Best part is, I have learned a number of new things about the aircraft, some of which are specific to the FAA birds.
