Since I got the Tamiya Mk I also my vote would be for the BOB markings.  I want to do mine in the 92 Sq. with the black wing, just my My 2 cents [2c].

Tamiya Mk1 was recieved from my mother for christmas along with decal sheets to finish my LFXIVe and XVIII so they can come back to the bench to be finished. I also got some very nice new paint brushes which will help alot.

Im not sure what to make my Mk1 into, im thinking either the prototype or the Speed Spitfire but then a PR1 would make a nice addition to the collection as well as a early Mk1. So what do others think i should build? Lets have a vote and i will build it for this group build.

Just in case I don't get a chance to post tommorow, Merry Christmas!!!! Thanks everyone for letting me crash the party late. It's been a blast so far.

Now, if I can just finish up my darn spit.....I think I'm getting a little paranoid, after the decal thing and all. I may be being a little too careful with it......everything seems to be going slow...too slow!Big Smile [:D]

Darren,

Merry Christmas to you as well and everyone else out there!  As for those spare parts, I have no idea why if they had one sitting there they didn't send it to me the first time. Dunce [D)]

here's my IP for my Spitfire.  Not the best but once it's closed up no one will see it.  The glass on the sight is a tad off but again you will not notice when the windscreen in in place.

Just wanted to post that I FINALLY received my replacement canopy parts from Tamiya after 11 (yes, eleven!) months!  After all the phone calls and runarounds, I eventually sent their customer service department an email through their website telling them about how awful it has been trying to obtain the parts.  They sent me an email three days later saying they had the parts (the one that previously had to be ordered from Japan and would take 4 months) in California and could send them out to me right away if I would give them my addy.  I did, and they arrived yesterday!  Propeller [8-]

I have been doing a bit of work on my Revell Spitfire.  I tried to take some pics but they all look bad.  I will give it another try later.  I have one question:  I was looking at the decals and notice that the large wing markings look like the have little cracks all over them.  These this mean that if I try to use them they will become a big pile of nothingSad [:(]

Roy

Roy if you can tell me what sort of (and what size) roundels you are looking for, I am sure I can dig some out of the decal dungeon.

Cheers

Darren, i'm going to see if I get get replacments from Revell and/or try what the others said, a clear coat.  If that does not work I will let you know.

I have been working on my Revell Spitfire 1/48.  I've noticed that the front windscreen fit is horrible.  I knew there a few of us who has or are building this kit.  Any help on an easy way to fix this would be great.  I don't want to buy a new canopy for the kit, lack of a job and all that.

Thats a fine looking Spit you got on the go there Mark....

Marc u old wingnut how are you mate? it's good to hear from some of the old "usual suspects"..Kremps is good, she still likes to crack billiard balls between her thighs...Ahhh the old days, remember when we would start up a gb and all of us were online at the same time and there was a hundred posts in one session, that was fun...

Anyways i have a pic of a Spit, it was heavily damaged during my divorce, lost a wingtip so i had to remove the other but i managed to patch it up it's not my best work..

Darren....not a problem.....I've been called worse!Big Smile [:D] I think I'm gonna stick with the way I have it now. I don't want to press my luck any more now that i fixed the decal snafu.Big Smile [:D]

It turned out pretty good. If you look at it at the right angle, you can still see the outline of the roundel, but the new one should cover that up....I hope!Big Smile [:D]

Darson,

You know, I normally would say "Oh, well!" and leave it at that, but since I have to do all this touch-up stuff, I think I may do it the correct way.Big Smile [:D] If you could post or PM me those diagrams, that would be great. I was just going off of the decal sheet, and the pics are so small, I almost missed the white alltogether!Banged Head [banghead] That's why I didn't paint them before I did the camo.Big Smile [:D] There's another one to chalk up to experience, I guess!Dunce [D)]

Mike I found the plans are in a word doc so if you can PM me an email addy that I can send an attachment to I'll shoot them off to you.  Btw the specific markings on the plans are for 457 Squadrons Wing Co Bobby Gibbes but the camo and generic wing markings are applicable to all 457 Squadron aircraft.

Roy, if you coat them with Microscale decal film you may be able to use them.  Future works, also, or the Testor's spray decal film.
