Darren-

Does your Spit have the awful sink marks on the back of the prop blades like mine does?  Took me 5 applications of filler just to fill 'em in.

To be honest I had'nt noticed..........I guess I'd better check it out tomorrow. I'm going to break formation now, its very late my side of the pond.

See you tomorrow.Wink [;)]

Why did I have a feeling I was not the only oneBig Smile [:D]

Made some vacuformed gun blisters with the parts from Jon  Sanding did not bother me until recentlyConfused [%-)]

The saw kerfs and holes on the Milliput mold help get a good suction. And PAM, as it turns out, is a great mold is release for this.

Old panels lines filled, old bumps and blisters filed off, the whle wing sanded, rescribed and a new "C" blister

These panels were cut from the Airfix wing Jon sent me and spliced intot he Hasegawa lower wing

Oops forgot to mention, Marc great job on the scratch built C wing so far, it's looking great.

Frank I’ve always wanted to do that Messerspit conversion but last time I checked the conversion was going to cost me more than the kit Confused [%-)]

Marc, Darren nice start guys even if it was a false start.  I think you both should have to do a Bf 109 as your next build as punishment. Wink [;)]

Since this is now officially a go (even though it is still June) I stayed up late last night and got a good start on my 1/72 Airfix Mk I.  since there is not much of a office in this one she moved along pretty quick.  I did foget to put the pilot seat in before I closed it up but luckily the glue was still wet when I noticed the seat sitting there staring at me Confused [%-)]. so I pulled off the bottom wing put in the seat and reglued the wing only to find out that the thingy sticking out from where the display stand goes was banging into the seat making it go crooked.  Off came the wing again.  don't you love Airfix? Big Smile [:D]  Actually I've been working on four dragon Ar 234 and Airfix fit problems have nothing on Dragon!!!!  Anyway, pics yes there are pics.

Dave, that's a fine start you're off to! Keep us posted! Thumbs Up [tup]

Marc, very impressive work on the wing modification! Glad mine's a 'b' and not a 'c'. I doubt I could have pulled it off as well as you! Thumbs Up [tup]

I should have some pics of my 1/48 Mk.Vb up later today. Got a few seams to clean up, but the fuselage is buttoned up and the wings are attached. Priming and pre-shading are not too far off.

Yea, it is at last time to build!  I will make a start on the K5054 conversion today, no matter how humble!

I have been doing research, and have an article claiming that the Rolls Royce blue (or whatever the first color was) was replaced with French Grey for a time, before the airplane was repainted in dark green/dark earth.  Unfortunately I think at that time it may also have gotten the later exhaust instead of the flush stubs.  I like those flush stubs.

Id like to do a model of K5054 as she was when she first flew.

Even with most of my stuff packed away I am able to do a bit on my Spitfire Mk2, maybe the cockpit Whistling [:-^] I was wondering if any of you could supply me with cockpit colors and/or pics of the pit?  It calls for a blue-green for the inside would interior green be OK?

Here's all you'll need for cockpit pics. Wink [;)]

Dave- you'll be finished before I get back! Wink [;)] Looks good- that little Airfix kit is fun. I built the Mk. V recently, and it can turn out OK. Just something cool about an Airfix Spitfire....

Marc- Nice work on that wing.

All- Last night I was looking for Spitfire sites, and found out that thespitfire.com was available. A few clicks later..... I own it! Not sure yet exactly what I'll do with it, but it will involove Spitfires. Wink [;)]

I've spent far, far too much time googling Spitfire pics.... LOL. You can go on and on and on. If you can't find a specific view, let me know and I'll look at what I have saved and see if it helps. If I tried to send all I have it would be to big to email. Big Smile [:D]

I'm sitting here in the hotel having Spitfire modeling withdrawals.....

HEEEELP !!

I use enamels only (MM) for my project. Primer used (White Primer from MM )

This supposed to be a project ready for decals (after applying gloss)

I set my Mk II with gloss coat (Model Master spray can) and .... it is not glossy. OK so I said, lets try ... I put a lot of microset and .... destroyed my first decal as soon as I tried to move it !

I think the problem is with the primer I used but I am not sure. The paint texture is flat. I even use sand paper to smooth the surface (after applying primer) and I thought it is OK. Now I see its not OK and I am going into deep .........

You guys know that I am a newbie and I just went into the trap I did not even see ....

So, what went wrong ??  How to apply decals in such surface - one shot only :( - I amy try it but .. it is a special set of decals and I do not have any replacements (have to wait for Techmod for at least two weeks ) so unless you will tel me what is wrong and how to fix or ... I will struggle during the task what was some fun already (P-51)

I don't know as I haven't experienced this problem but maybe the decals were bad and microsel had a negative impact on them. Just a thought. The build looks great though.
