Now sanding is almost done, and I'll put on a primer to check if there's something more to fix. Meanwhile I just had to test fit the plane and the bomb on the stand! Smile [:)]

Might just tilt the Spit a bit down to make look more on the hunt.

I've noticed a slight? problem with the canopy, that needs to be taken care of!

The rear part doesn't align with the spine the way I think it should. I'm thinking of either tilting the canopy sligthly, or cutting the rear part and gluing it properly to the spine, and fill the gap.

Cheers,

Azgaron

Greg,

I love the new paint job!  What colors did you use?

Frank, When I get settled in I was going to finish the Revell Spitfire and later build the Tamiya.  I was planning to do the one with the half black wing.  I was thinking that my Spit could be a wingmanWhistling [:-^]  per our earlier chat.

Azgaron I would go with "cutting the rear part and gluing it properly to the spine, and fill the gap" plan if I were you as I am pretty sure it will look better than tilting the canopy.  Good luck with whatever you go with.

Greg the new paint job looks great, I can barely see the demarcation line now just like on photos if the real thing.  Did you achieve this by misting one color over the existing camo?

Also, you are probably aware of this but Ultracast sell cannons for just about mark of Spitfire that existed so you shouldn't have any trouble replacing the missing one.

Cheers

I did exactly this, sprayed from a distance the Mid Stone over DG. It removed the sharp color change and faded the dark green. I like this approach.

I usually did a bit opposite way. I paint one color and than just mist the second one. This misting after the colors are placed is easier because I can see the effect right away.

I have another Hase Mk IXc, so I will just grab one of them from this set for now. I am still searching for the one I broke .... I did not give up yet Smile [:)] and its already painted Smile [:)] I am lazy Smile [:)]

Darson,

I thought that would be the best option too, so it's almost done, but I've been having some problems with how to polish the inside, it's pretty tight, and I don't seem to have the proper tools.

Not much progress, but I got the canopy masked and the wings on.  Next step, preshading!

I worked on my Spitfire cockpit today, and finished most of it up.  I also glued the fuselage halves together and am soon going to sand the seams.  Here are some photos of it so far:

These?

Greg, that paint looks gorgeuos. did I spell that right? But I have one question. Where are the horizontal stabs? Don't they fit into the camo?

Hey there hkshooter, I can't speak for Greg but I know that when I build a Spitfire it's a lot easier to mask and paint the camo scheme without the horizontal stabs in place.  I normally paint them separately and attach afterwards.

I am BACK ! Smile [:)]

Exactly, after my second Spit I decided to do it Darren's way. Much easier. Besides that I plan to lower the horizontal cotrol surfaces a bit. I did not like to take a chance and break them appart during painting (like my cannon Sad [:(] )

Same here!  I paint mine separately but test fit them before painting to make sure they will fit tightly when completed.  I did some preshading on my Mk.I this weekend after mounting it on my new high-tech paint stand. Big Smile [:D]
