Thank you mike this Italeri kit is great and has great fit except that seem behind the canopy is

the only problem. I airbrushed the insides of the after burners gunmetal and the missle bay

landing gears white. the kit even comes with moveable flaps. Thanks for looking

Hey guys,

Great progress to all of you who have gotten a start.  I figure to start the Gneisenau in a week or so.  Gotta do some research on what colors I need for paint, etc.

By the way, Happy New Year to all!!  Party [party]Make a Toast [#toast]

I've made a start on the He162. First up is a box top photo with the Eduard PE set on top. It is a cockpit set - nothing too large, about 40 small to microscopic parts.

After the first day I've made some progress on, not suprisingly, the cockpit. The photo is not too good as it was a bit of a rush photo. Easily the best and fastest cockpit panel I've done though!

Wow, some of you guys are jumpin' in head first on this.  That's awesome. Thumbs Up [tup]

I'm back from my trip now and I should be finishing one of my current builds this weekend and then I'll get started on the E555.  In the meantime I have done a little dry fitting to get motivated.  The previous owner of the kit painted all the interior pieces interior green but no assemebly has taken place.  I'll have to repaint the interior pieces the appropriate RLM colors.

I guess I didn't really jump the gun when I drilled out the carbuator intakes. I can only find AM parts for the Italeri kit those are seatbelts and plackards. I wonder if they will work with the Airfix kit. I plan on covering her with either Bare Metal Foil or Renolds wrap. I have played with industrial spray adhesesive and aluminum foil and it seems to lay down really well.

Let's build

Alright Guys~!!!!  Looks like i wasn't the only one that got busy with their builds!  Got everything washed and the parts i'm working on first primered.  Then i tackled the IP and Pit.  Tried the Future on the dials trick and Wow what a difference it makes.  I dryfitted the fuse together and amazingly little to no seams.  Let me know what ya'll think.  Whose gonna get the Jack-Rabbit Award for finishing first??  Won't be me.  I just got the Esci Weapons set for the A-10, talk about detailed weapons.  Woot!1  On to the pics:

Raptor Nice progress, you've got a good start there.

Paul nice work on the IP

Mist The pit looks great

Dave that's going to be one cool looking bird.

As for me started work on the Voodoo painted the cp tub and fuse interior and put on the base coat on the seats, assembled the drop tanks & eng cans and not much else.  I'm disapointed the pe bits I was planning on using for the pit will not work with this kit however all is not lost Great Models has a pe set for the voodoo (Revell kit I believe) that will work they also have a good book on the Voodoo so I'll be placing an order today.  So apart from painting the seats everything else will be on hold till I get my parts.  Here are some shots of what I have done so far

Here you can see the difference with the kit seats and the resin ones.

Kenny that's going to be quite the monster, displaying that thing is going to be big a challenge

Keep up the great work guys.

Cheers

Bear

Yes, I agree it looks great!

I started out doing some minor sub-assemblies like the wings and fins. The kit was started when I bought it and the engine parts was painted by brush and with very thick layers. So I put the parts in a little bath to remove the paint.

OK fellas,

Sorry about giving a couple of you fits for my lack of voting.  I was internet deprived from 12/28 to 12/31.  I was hoping to get back in time on the 31st to cast votes.  However I just finished plowing through all the thread and found out that by that time you had already completed the tie breaker process.Shock [:O]  Maybe next year I will be able to participate in the voting or become notorious for not voting.Black Eye [B)]

I shall complete the Marder III beforst commencing on the cobra.  (Now where did I put the kit)

If you notice what I use as my avatar; that little vehicle did a fine job of hauling my big butt around Daytona International Speedway.Big Smile [:D]  That is why I was unable to vote!

Raptordriver, you're making quick progress on the F-22. Thumbs Up [tup] That seam is going to be a pain.

Paul_toz, The ip looks darn good.  I assume it's Eduard PE?  A couple of others who've built the 162 say it was an easy quick model.  That's a good thing after the trouble the Moskito gave you!

Razordws, that is so wicked looking!

TGregory, less posting and more pics! SoapBox [soapbox] Big Smile [:D]

Mist086, pit for the A-10 looks pretty good.  I didn't even know Esci made a weapons set for the Revell!

Bear, bummer about the PE not working but good that you've found a replacement.  The resin seats are a definite improvement. Thumbs Up [tup]

Whew!  A lot of progress right from the gate from quite a few of us.  I'm almost embarrassed I can't start right now.

Keep it up!

Tony, I'm interested to see just how large 1/24 scale is.  Where in the world are you going to display that monster?

That explains the sense of deja vu when I look at it!  I knew I'd seen something similar before but just couldn't place it...

Thanks IL! Thumbs Up [tup]

I think I am going to give it back to the doner. His eyesight isn't too good and gave it to me to build. It had the original receipt with it. $51.00 from Hobbytown in 1997.

I've been doing a little work on my Typhoon. First these parts that already was painted got into the paint remover bath.

I've also painted the interior parts.

Now I'll just put it all together and repaint it Smile [:)] Btw. what color do I use on the seat cushion?
