Well, since you all are so darn FAST, I figured I'd
better get some work done to keep up!
I spent another hour looking at 3-view profiles for the B-58. It seems
to be a crap-shoot guessing which one is the most accurate. They all
differ greatly in the shape of the forward fuselage (nose & windscreen)
so ultimately I just took my best guess at which one is closest and I'll
shoot for a close match (the same 3-view shown before). One thing
they all had in common: tail on this kit is hugely oversized, so off it went!
(Important safety note: cut first, drink budweiser after)
I'm painting the interior all black: i doubt that any detail will be visible
when it's assembled. There are some pilot figures that I will roughly
detail though, because they might be slightly visible through the windows.
I will be mounting the aircraft 'in-flight' much like I did with the Mig31,
so I cut some balsa to fit snug in the fuselage and super-glued it in place.
This will give me something to drill into to anchor the support mast.
The good news is that the plastic seems to be very soft. The
sanding and re-profiling that I have planned might go considerably
faster than I thought. We'll see...
Cheers fellas.
