Bill the zimmerit was on both sides and the bottom.

Now that's what I call a beast. I like the view of that Jadg coming down on me. Pretty scary. Great one, Muzzleflash.

Spector: It's basically OOB with minor modificatins (added one more headlight, cut-off the rainguard on the gunner's sight and reshaped one of the fan exhausts).

Help please! Were the leaves on the ambush scheme generally brushed on or sprayed on by the crews or factory?

Tigerman: I am not sure, too. But they'd look better when sprayed. I did my King Tiger using brushed leaves and I ended up with some lumpy ones.

Yeah, I should have masked as I was going along. I was kind of tinkering with the microbrushes and think it might work using them lightly dipped in paint. I had some mixed results on my mule.

Well, misery loves company, so if it's done in time I'l add mine too! I'm going to rattle can mine, and I have no idea how that's going to come out. I don't have facilities to airbrush in the arm parts of my house, so unless I wait until spring, rattle cans it is. [:0]

Some more greaat looking builds. That shot of the jagd coming across the bridge is great Muzzleflash.

I finally felt like doing some painting yesterday on the base, now just have to do some ground work and some other minor painting and it should be done. Hopefully be able to get some pics of it up by weeks end.

Saw your other thread Larry, good luck. Hope I can finish in time. I might post some pics if my son has his camera. He's away at college, but is coming home.

Thanks muzzleflash, that at least opens the door. I have seen many different ambush schemes, which makes it tougher to pick one.

Here is my Panther G early finished up and nestled in its new home. I thught I would do a beat up abandoned one possibly near the end of the war on it's way back to Berlin. Don't know how historicly accurate it is, but thats how it just ended up. The ground work is a quick project done with sculpey and static grass. The fence, power pole and sign came out of the Tamiya set. The tree is one that I picked up at a LHS that I think is resin. Comments are welcome as this is the first time I have tried to do anything like this.

It's been fun being in the build and have learned alot, thanks to you guys. Hope to join in another soon.

Thanks Peter. Not quite up and about to much yet, got another 7 weeks at least on crutches. Do feel better than I did last weekend though, especially after seeing the bill and glad that insurance is paying it all!

Yup, get better soon. Your Panther build turned out terrific. Love the diorama, kind of poetic. Must say your quite good with a camera. Nice clear pictures. Good luck on your next build.

I also finally settled on a color scheme/unit.

P.S. Hope your recovery goes well

Self inflicted setback No. 1:
When I decided to do the Panther Early A instead of the Late G, I got a bunch of new aftermarket stuff for the early vehicle. I forgot to get the Eduard barrel, and grabbed the barrel last night only to see "Panther G for Tamiya" written on the package. That explains that scream of dispair you may have heard at around 10pm EST last night. Apparently the people on the ISS heard it. Tongue [:P]

Self inflicted setback No. 2:
I only have one can of dark yellow Tamiya spray. No way that's going to be enough.

Complications, complications! I tihnk I'm going to abandon modeling and adopt a safer, less stressful hobby, like defusing unexploded ordnance.

Well, hopefully it will not be too big a deal or a delay, as I've still got lots of photoetch stuff to bend and lose in the rug, while cursing at it, stuff no one will ever notice anyway.

Life is good!

Laugh [(-D]

That said, I am still aiming to have this sucker done by the end of the month! Where there's life, there's hope.

LQ2: as I said before .... fine job my friend ! And get better soon .... I think we have all learned a thing or 2 from you as well , so for that thanx ! Hope to see your work in a future build , but for now I am going to finish some of these projects I have not yet finished here BTW what will be the next build ? HMMMMMMM! Maybe an artillery build ( german or all ) !Cool [8D]Big Smile [:D] Larry: just drill your mantel to accept that cannon , they all had the same one I believe, thank god for the dremel tool !

Larry: presume your A is not the Tamiya one, or maybe it will still fit. Muzzle brakes were only slightly different, not through the models D to G but due to different manufacturers.

My barrel is with the trader that goes to my club each month (they arrived in Oz 2 days after our last meeting) but I won't see him til first Sat in Feb, so I'm going to be a late finisher too.

I considered that, but I have a Panther G model too ... and Squadron is sending me the Panther A barrel 2nd day air already. Laugh [(-D]

Peter, didn't even know Tamiya made an A! Mine is the Dragon early A. Interesting fact about the variation amongst manufacturers, BTW.

Yeah, the Aber clamps were giving me fits so I set aside and knocked out a (mostly) OOB M41. Back in the saddle now.

Hey Ya'll...

LQ2, COOL!!! Great work bud.... I like the "screwit...I'm takin my toys and goin home" flag on the airal... Super weathering and neat diorama... I like the street a lot. Is that hand carved or AM. Get well soon.....

Claymore... Long time no speak... Good to hear you survived the valley of the shadow of Aber....Big Smile [:D]

More mud for me.... Managed to break 3 links off my MK track. Grumpy [|(] I finnaly gave in and decaled the blessed thing. I was a little apprehensive about Censored [censored]in with my finnish but I managed to blend the decals in with a little work. Saturday, I'm hoping to get done with the weathering. Unfortunantly no time to paint a figure.. I guess that'll be down the road a bit. I got my diorama base carved, I just have to paint and rubble it up. SO thats that... ya'll have a good one...

I think I may have tried too new stuff much at once. My first PE (and a full Aber set at that DUH! ), first major scratch building, (turret), first indy tracks (still love those Fruil tracks). Maybe I should have done the G with Fruils and basic PE.

NOT!! This is gonna be killer when done and I will be as happy as a pig in a pile of Censored [censored]!

This won't have a base for now as I intend on doing the dio I mentioned on about page 3 or 4 of this thread.
