Great looking tail roller Frank! Kind of a shame to undo what has been done, but I would love to see a -2 NF! That's one that isn't built a lot! Thumbs Up [tup] Interior colors, my My 2 cents [2c] worth is I would probably go with the zinc chromate green which I (think) was most common interior color. Up to you though, will look good whatever color you choose I know.

Thanks Richie!  Looks like I may have to persevere and do the -2!  As for the interior colors, most of my references point to Dull Dark Green or Black on these early birds.  I am going to go with the Dull Green as I have never tried it before, and it'll look different than the other ones. Thumbs Up [tup]

Thanks for the advice! Big Smile [:D]

Come on, Frank, whack it off, drill it out, and stick a steel pin in it.  That way it  can be turned off and it wont break off as easy to boot! Big Smile [:D]

Hey fellas - I've been a bit delinquent in getting my WIP up, but here's where she stands right now. Apologize for the lousy pic, but my camera is on the fritz...shopping for a new one now.

A bit of touch-up work still to do on the 3-tone paint scheme, then a layer of future followed by decals! Hope to get some work done over the long weekend. Approve [^]

Looking good from here Marc!  The paint looks very smooth.  What kind did you use?

Hey, thanks guys! Smile [:)]

Frank - amazingly enough, they're MM acrylics, which I used just for easy color matching (it's that colorblind thing again). I usually stick with Tamiyas to get a super-smooth coat, but these went down relatively trouble free, just the usual tip-dry issues. Actually, they're the ones I'm using as block until I get the landing gear done! Big Smile [:D]

Simpilot - can you make out much of the engine in that pic? I think I have a better photo from a month or two ago in photobucket somewhere...let me take a look. Wink [;)]

Sure...as soon as I'm done with the paint touchups! Laugh [(-D]

Actually, shouldn't be a problem. I only snapped a couple of quickies the other day, I can snag something in the next day or so. Wink [;)]

As I said Marc, you've done a fine job on the engine as well! Big Smile [:D] That is a much better shot of it, yes. Will be starting on my engine soon, finishing up the office now. Had the go levers to far back and had to reposition it, and the more I looked at it they seemed way too long. So, pulled them off, trimmed and reglued them. Paint the handles and then roll up my sleeves and get crackin' on the mill.

Small update for me today, been busy with other projects.  I managed to glue and blend in the fuselage inserts, and am hoping to shoot some paint on the cockpit tonight.  I am debating whether to spruce up the office or go OOB with it.  Anyway, here's a photo to show I am still making progress! Big Smile [:D]

Okay, last weekend, put a good cramp in my neck, and a strain on the eyes farting around w/ the PE that comes with the bird I have. (Trump. 1/32 F4U-4)

Please tell me I'm not the only one that fudged up PE parts. I realize that I'm am far from the most skilled out there, but HOLY SCHNIKES! PE in a PITA!

Oh well, more fartin around tonight....Me thinks that I'll putz w/the B-25.

Hey harv....did you come out ahead, or leave money behind? Whistling [:-^]

I spent some time the other day fitting the Lonestar wheelwells to the wing and they look good. Still lots of fitting to do though. I may have to build with both wings down though. We`ll see. I wanted to do it with one wing forlded, but the wheelwell may cause a prob with this. Time will tell............Harv

Hey Harv,

Just out of curiosity, why would the wheel well inetrfere with the wingfold?  The well is inboard of the fold...unless lonestar did something funny with the wells.

Fred, thanks for asking. As you can see in pics the well "block" is big. It sticks out quite a bit. I cant cut enough off because I would be cutting into the well. The first pic shows how far it sticks out. The second shows where the pointy piece goes. Note the pointy end is pointed to where it is supposed to go. So mabey the next corsair I build I can fold a wing..........Harv

I was gonna say, Lonestar gave you one heck of a conversion kit - it turned your F4U into an F86.  No wonder you couldn't get the wheel bays to fit with the wing fold Laugh [(-D]

Those walls on the resin sets are really thick.  You may have to do what I did to the True Details set I had for my 'Stang - sand them down until they're paper thin and then coat them with CA for rigidity.  It's a time consuming process, because it's sand, test fit, sand, test fit, etc., but it may be the only way.
