I have built the Top Flight Gold addition, also the Royal .60, which for detail, cannot be beat.  My final Corsair .60 is the one Pica release before going out of business.  This kit was closer to "fun scale" but the dimensions are simular to the Top Flight.

DId not do any modeling today but did a Frozen 27 mile mountain bike ride. It was 25* when I left out and it did not get any warmer. After I wow'ed the neighbors unloading my bike with my cold wear spandex I had another outstanding project lined up. I brought out my sawzall and started cutting a hole in the side of the house. I had been planning on doing that this summer but had  put it off. Now my spraybooth vents out the side of the house instead of the window.

Vent Dont fret my fellow GB'ers my bench never looks this clean. I just mucked everything over to the building side and cropped it out. Laugh [(-D] The way I figure now with a hole in this wall the room can never be converted into a guestroom for the mother ~in~law Thumbs Up [tup]

Laugh [(-D] Thanks darth_trader I will have to muck off the building side and enclose a photo of it.

Well I had a near panic attack with the Corsair this morning, As I was test fitting the little hinge covers one fell deep into the wing. After some very careful  tipping  , turning and inverting I spied it. I was able to pluck it out with a pair of skinny tweezers. To prevent this from happening again I rolled little "handles" out of masking tape and stuck to them. Now I know whuy I have seen several planes missing these covers....

Thanks Sean,  I hope to be home around Thursday but will be away again for about a week from the 8th.  I am hoping to get pics uploaded to this site.  I am happy on how my latest 1/32 Corsair turned out, even if the kit was more a toy than a model kit.

Have a happy holiday.

Scott

The long holiday weekend is ending but I was able to get a lot of work on my twin builds.

I am building both OOB with only some additional wiring detailing (brake lines, engine wiring, and probably some hydraulic lines that I see in some photos of Corsairs with their wings in the folded position).

F4U-1A - used the kit decal for the IP, put down two separate washes, one black and the other dark tan (tan only in the wheel well areas).  Put the entire fuselage together and mounted the engine, and attached the wing stubs.

F4U-1D - used the kit decal for this one as well and did lighter washes, and essentially completed it to the same point of the 1A.

More progress. In this pics you guys can see what I meant by the hard camo lines. I really don't want to mess with it anymore since I have masked and sprayed it sveral times already. I don't want to make things worse so I think I'll leave it as is and call it a learning experience. The WEEKENDWE'REALLFREAKINGNUTJOBSPropeller [8-] GB inspired me to dust this thing off. Thanks for looking

The Corsair has made its way back to the bench. Been so long since I looked at it I forgot where I left off... This morning looked like a good day to test fire the old bird up. I was quite surprised at how much it popped and sputtered and smoked. To my dismay it burned off quite a bit of paint down the side of the fuse. Shock [:O]
