I hear you, man... it's those third-world styrene barons, and those distributors who push the stuff for them. More than once I've seen sleazy deals going down in back alleys, as clean-cut young guys hand over wedges of cash to guys in big cars who have overcoats stuffed with resin and PE...

This isn't getting me any closer to a build, but it's fun!

I just searched the most likely bozes in my stash but the Tamiya E-3/Galland isn't there -- meaning I stuffed it in some other carton when I was in a packing mood. I have a feeler out to Beijing for a replacement.

Great to have you back, how is the missus?  Hopefully all is well and she's feeling much better.

Man, that's a lot of kits fellas!  My current stash is about 250 kits, stored in a spare bedroom closet.  It was getting out of handwith my impulsive spending, so I decided to go for a WHOLE MONTH without buying ANY hobby related stuff.  Well, it's the 21st of the month and I am doing well!  Only had to buy a jar of paint for the '109 but since I needed it for a current build it didn't count.

Mikester, Yes it is the CMK set. The set comes with a small etched fret. I also have the Eduard zoom interior set. Im using the best of both. LOL.

SC, you obviously didnt see my Schwimmwagen that i built after Gallands 109 as a rest from planes. LOL Took 3 days then i started the Bomber. /forums/976236/ShowPost.aspx

And i was crazy before i started the pit on the bomber. Dont think i can get any crazier. Ask the future ex-missus.

Sorry Guy I missed the Wagon build. Frank thanks for the support I was feeling awfull lonely out there! TBolt I am jelious! I only have one closet full from top to bottom, about 190 kits at last count. The majority are OOP or hard to find. I stopped buying last year when there was no more space in the closet. Then i sat down and realised how long it would take to build all of these kits. now i just buy photoetch decals and resin bits for the kits i already have. I could not resist snagging one more Classic Airframes Me 109 A. I want to build all of the versions so now I have three of them.  darson glad to see you are back hope everythings going good at home.

 No kidding I keep telling myself the forward area is cock-pit green/ interior green but I can't explain the orange and purple. I live in a crayon box!

sfcmac bright pumpkin orange looks like a color my wife would pick out. I feel your pain. As far as other hobbies I also launch high power rockets and raise centeral american cichlids (fish). I use to have about 15 aquariums going from 20 gal to 300 gal.

My stash is small when compaired to some on here. I don't have a exact count but it's around 60 or so. Considering my narrow building interest you can guess how many 109's I have

I do have a friend that has somewhere in the neighborhood 500. 

I probably have the smallest stash in this whole forum....TWO!!  I know....Two!!!  A corsair for a group build and my stuka...both being worked on simultaneously...Hope I don't mix the parts!!

If I'm lucky, maybe the wife will add a third for my big 4-0 on Friday!!  I can't imagine staring at all those unbuilt kits while you work...I would go insane!!

Hmmm...stash size.

I think I'm about in the 220 range, 81 of which are FineMolds 109's.  109's and 190's comprise over half the stash.  I don't buy at nearly the clip I used to but when I come to Japan I usually come back with several models just because I get some good deals over here.

I have four plastic shoe boxes full of resin goodies, PE and canopy masks too.

Interesting discussion of our bits and pieces. Lufty, you set me thinking!

I have a vintage desk (over 100 years old, I believe) as my bench -- it needs sanding back and restaining, so I'm not too worried about any messes at this point, though I'm careful. It has four large drawers. One is completely filled with tools and glue, another with EMA & Evergreen scratchbuilding supplies, a third with paints, and the fourth with a mix of resin AM, sandpaper and craftwood diorama bases. The rest of my paints are stored in snap-top Chinese food takeaway containers. The collection's been growing fast as a local toys chainstore has stopped carrying models and has been selling off their Humbrol stocks at only $1 a can instead of $4. I've picked up $200 worth of paint for $50 in the last month or more, but it's really taxing my storage!

Hoping to source that 109 real soon!

I have finally begun the FW-200 tonight. Not a bad kit by the looks of it but I have a few missing parts. Missing the instrument panell and coaming but I can get around that fairly easily. The other is a bigger problem a propeller. I guess I am going to have to try Revell for a replacement. Tried it before with the He-115 wing but couldent figure it out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

As far as my stash goes it is over 375 at last count and growing. I have been slowing lately and plan on building more.

TBolt great pickup with the paint, it's always nice when you land yourself a bargain. 

Well guys I finished a good session with the beast of 10,000 tiny parts (Eduard Bf 110) last night and I think I've finally broken the back of the cockpit.  Tonight I Lay down the initial RLM 02 over all bits and pieces after which I'll be able to complete the assembly and then add the etch, etc, etc...

 Darren that extc... stuff looks to be pretty challenging to from what I know about thie kit which Is lying about here some where.

Sidure you are having some bad luck with those kits geeze. A wing and now a prop? I don't have any 1/72 stuff or I'd find you one.

Darson...Thanks for the birthday wishes...when I said two...I meant two...two kits in my stash..both being worked on now...took a break after my daughter was born...that was five years ago..now back into it with those two kits and my workbench is the dining room table...wow...I sound like a rookie!  I'm sure the future holds a special hobby room with stash storage for me...In fact, the wife and I are looking to buy a new house and one that we're looking at has a wired "hobby" workshop!!  Hmmmm....dreams do come true!!

 Wow Bill , alias,"DAD you don't know anything!"  That looks like some small parts on the PE. Between you and guy you fellows must trim your finger nails to special shapes to handle those tiny parts. Sneeze and they would be gone forever in my carpet monster. That looks like an incredible project. I want to see more! Your not staying up late enough! LOL

Mark983 I am here to tell you that sounds way too familiar. When I was squeezed into Army housing, I was lucky to get the kitchen table. Between 4 kids and work I guess it didn't matter much anyways. Moved 19 times in 21 years so anything I had always ended up smashed. Now that I have a place of my own (finally) My kids are older and one has even moved out so I finally got my work space. Bet you can't wait to have yer own as well. Happy Big 4-0!

Got some good bench time in last night. i managed to lay down all odf the decals. The darn fuselage roundels are in three pieces! I am still seeing crosseyed! The Microscale decal were great and behaved very well. They went down easily and were easy to reposotion when on the model. Once I set them down the stayed put also. Tonight clear coat!

Guy, that interior is way scary. I just added Eduard belts and some scratchbuilt levers, which look like poles compared to yours! 

Mark, I'm with you on the stash numbers, with just 2 kits in the cupboard, one of which is my next build for this GB. 

The other one is from the darkside with PE and a turned barrel.

I always mask everything these days following far to many overspray incidents. I now remember why I prefer late war Luftwaffe camo schemes.

My wife had to recover one of the landing gear legs from our beagle, who has a habit of leaning over onto my desk and nicking anything going!

Good news, my holidays start today and my back is better ehough to sit at the work bench for awhile.  Hope to finish off my other GB and dive into this one over the mext few days before I head out on the highway with the family.

Looking sweet Karl. What markings are you going for on the camo sheet? Im doing No.2 but all are compatible with the build. Obviously not No.1 as that was anightfighter.

Darson, Thats exactly what i was thinking. The future ex-missus and i have a Jack Russel, and ive never been anywhere near his exhaust emmisions. It was part of the deal. She wants a Doog, she cleans up after him. LOL
