Finally have some time to actually start building my Panther.  I have been humbled by the quality of workmanship and skill i have seen posted in this group build, but have decided to forge ahead anyways :)

Fresh in the box and my reference material.

Unsullied sprues, ready for the tender touch of cutter and glue.

I started with the rear panel, per the instructions, gluing into place the exhaust, jack, and supply boxes.

Back panel in place.

Partial turret completed.  There is a slight seam on the barrel that I will need to clean up.

Essentially I am avoiding working on the road wheels and idlers for a bit and putting together the sub assemblies.  Also still working on a solution for screens for the cooling fans.  Screens I think I can do, but not sure how to handle the frames yet.

Currently Building: Tamiya 1/35 Panther Ausf. A

anthony2779: That bedspring armor is the crowning touch to a real jewel...great build!  It's getting me fired up to start my T34/85...I brought the kit out of the stash over the long weekend!

Sweet t-34, anthony.  The bed frame add on armor really makes it a beautiful build.

Keep up the great work.

Nice work Anthony!

I'm going to steal an idea that Dave (razordws) did with the Weekend Madness GB and post a finished pic of each completed build in the first thread on page one so it will be easy to see a recap of the fantastic work going on here.  I probably won't get around to doing that until this evening though.

Now that the Weekend Madness GB is over and I can come up for some air I'll get back on the JS-2 now.  Whistling [:-^]

Great finish on the build, Anthony. Only thing I'm thinking of is maybe some more steel-colored drybrushing on the bedframes? I can see some in one of the pics, maybe it's just really subtle.

Good stuff!! Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Anthony, excellent work on the spring armor. I always like seeing these modified T-34's.

I got my Berlin Street Fighter done today. It was a faily simple kit.It was my first use of magic tracks, they were OK ,I got them together but I didn't see the magic,of course I like Friuls better, but who wants to use them on every kit,too much $$$.but the MT's were ok.The PE screens went OK also,as far as the microscopic PE clams and such are still too small to deal with, maybe on a future kit.I washed and weathered it,didn't bang it up too much, figuredthey didn't last that long.Overall I was fairly satisfied and I enjoyed being part of this build, hope to see a lot more good stuff before it is done.

anthony2779: Nicely done, I especially like the dust washes and the white stripes on the turret.  Everything is well executed...all around...nice attention to all levels of detail!

That headlight is a bit clean, you may want to dull that down a bitWink [;)]

I'm doing a T34/85 for this GB too..the old Tamiya kit..it will be a lot more beat-up than you version though...wish me luck

I have some WIP shots of my T-34/85.The tank is pretty much done, maybe a little touch up and weathering, the final step will be adding the PE bedspring armor, hopefully that goes well or this will pretty much be it,so I will get back to you with the finished product.

thanks for looking

Hey guys, sorry for my absence the past couple weeks.  Been pretty overwhelmed with work and life responsibilities.  Things are settling down and I actually managed to squeeze some time in on my workbench yesterday (Tamiya 1/48 Bf109E-3).

I'll be back on the JS-2 shortly.  Whistling [:-^]

I am working on a Late Panther Ausf. G produced by MAN. With LS Steel Wheels and MAN stowage bins. As I just recently started the hull during the time frame I'm in.

The suspension is completely workable.

SMJ the tracks are from the kit. Came close to scraping them but I wanted this to be oob. If you go back a couple of pages you can see in my wip how I added the texturing. I'll add dust after I get it on the base so it matches up. I'll PM you a pic of the tool set.

I'll go back and check out that texturing...it's superb!  Again, great build, I'll look forward to seeing the final, final version!

Anthony  Dupes Moose  Mobious  SMJ thanks for the comps. Just found out that the weld seam that goes around the mantel should not be there so this beast will be going back in the shop. Shouldn't be to hard of a fix a little sanding and add a seam line and a touch up and it'll be back on the front line's.

Dupes not giving up just next time a different base color and I'll use an AB instead of silly putty. The unit that used that pattern also had Js 152's and T34/85.  I have one of each in the stash.

Mobiuos don't worry I've got two sets of Russian tank rider's and I'm sure a few of them will be hitching a ride.

SMJ the tracks are from the kit. Came close to scraping them but I wanted this to be oob. If you go back a couple of pages you can see in my wip how I added the texturing. I'll add dust after I get it on the base so it matches up. I'll PM you a pic of the tool set.

panzerguy: Good call on the green turret...this is a great looking build, the work up front on the fenders and spare tracks is especially well done!  Was the turret casting marks from the kit or did you do that?...VERY realistic looking! Those tracks REALLY look the part too...just the right amount of rust...did you say those were Fruil's or from the box?

She's a bit clean IMO though, have you considered adding some more dust?...at least some build up in the usual spots...food for thought...Burger [BG]

I just sent you a PM too.

Hey panzerguy, Where are all the Ivans riding on the JS2? Seriously, It looks great, the texturing and the paint really are top notch. The Real Deal Decals look amazingly like they're painted on.  Hats off to a job well done and thanks for the WIP.

OBTW, If your done with that fork I need it to finish off that pesky little GPA!
