Served here from 79 to 81. Wish to replicate the vehicles from that time period. Is gloss OD right? What size font for the unit markings is correct? I have some B/W pics will post soon. Would like to do anM-60 w/high gloss paint job. really need decal info to make it right. Thanks in advance

Wasn't their stuff in MERDC camo in that time period? Most of the rest of the Army was.

The Berlin Brigade camo is unique to the cold war period and was never used anywhere else.

Whilst browsing the mag racks I did see an article on this very subject and thought that would be a scheme to do in the future.

So...I bought the mag for future reference, now I cant find itCrying.

However as you are doing the scheme I take you have a copy, if not let me know and I will search again.

I doubt very much if it would gloss!.

Sorry I'm not more help...cheers....Kenny

I think there was recently an article in SMMI on the british Berlin armored colors, but the OP is referring to American vehicles which at some times appeared more like display vehicles.

During my time in Germany, the Berlin Brigade used overall forest green vehicles (tanks, Jeeps, later HMMWVs). The same color as the NATO scheme minus the black and brown. When they drew M1A1s in the summer of 1989, they ended up with standard camouflage. Earlier they did use the standard gloss OD with and without the white star, but that was before my time. I don't recall seeing their stuff in the standard MERDC.

I saw a bunch of their tanks on rail cars at Grafenwoehr back in the early 70's they were OD, but they had a lot of dust on them so I don't know if they were gloss or not. Rumor was that they were show pieces, so gloss would be a good bet.

During the time of President Ferdinand Marcos in the Philippines, the presidential security battalion painted their APCs and the Scorpions in the Berlin brigade camo because the Battalion is based in Manila aorund the Presidential Palace.

Guys, he was asking about M60s in the Berlin Brigade; I make the assumption that he is asking about the US Army's Berlin Brigade and not any other nation since the US was the only occupying force to use the M60 in Berlin.
