Ok, I'm really new at this and it seem so interesting!!!!  If I decide to join the GB, and it will be my 1st, what is required of me during the build?

I have the Panzejager I with Eduard PE siting right in front of me, and just can't wait to dig in it!!!!!! My painting skill are still limited, so I will stick with a one color hull. I might do a bit of scratchbuild if time allows.

Cheers

Cool. No real requirements. I mean, try to finish the build an have a great time. No pressure, just comradship and the exposure to other members, as well as having fun. I got you down.

I mean.....  do you guys want pics of everything??? (I will probably do it anyway)

Do you want a list of what I did (for the GB) and what I plan?   Like I said, I'm new to that , but I want the full experience  Thumbs Up [tup]

Hey Gun Tech,

Don't worry about a thing because I am in a same situation as you are in.  This is my first GB as well and my painting skill is just as bad as some 3 year old kid.

lol     thanks a lot buddy! I'd ike to talk a little more private with you.     I do think I'm really strong at building, scratchbuild and all, but painting, I started just 1 year ago........   I love building too much, but still green horn in painting.   If you have any tricks (I'll settle for uniform painting), just tell me. You might know more than me. Will share anythingI know of building to. Smile [:)]

Hey gun tech,

No problem.  You can contact me any time you want.  However, I am not going to be the right person to tell you how to paint. Especially figures.  Person that you would talk to is ajlfleche(?).   My last trip to South Korea, I picked up a book written by Tamiya Korea and it shows how to build and paint figures.  I'm going throught some trials.  I'll share with you the infor I got from this book.

By the way, are you an Armorer (for small arms repair/modification)?

You got it right buddy, Armorer, but the trade is not limited to small arms...   from .22 Call Anschutz to 155mm M777. Every thing that goes BOOM.  It all depends of qualifications, but the basic one,  is including a lot.   By the way.... has anybody built a model with a M242 (25 mm bushmaster) as a gun??? I'm really curious to see what that fu**r looks like in 1/35 or 1/72. I work on the real thing on almost a daily baisis, but curious to see the downsize version.

Thanks for sharing the info. Ask if any questions and I'll try my best to answer.

Pictures are always encouraged. You don't need to go into huge detail. Sometimes it's helpful to others to point out any problems, so if another is working on the same kit, he won't be surprised or can prepare ahead of time.

Hey Tigerman!!! Do I really have to wait until September 15 to start?  I am looking at M24 kit and my fingers are getting itchy!!!!!   Big Smile [:D]  Anyway, I just got M7 Priest kit from Italeri and if I have enough time, I may also build this one as well.  Any info on this kit as for accuracy and detail?  Some one mentioned that the track for this kit is rather short and I may have to get tracks seperately.  If so, which track should I be getting for this kit?

Sorry, my friend. I know how itchy it can be sometimes. Why not start one kit now and save the other for the GB? I'll count em both for you. Double medals. LOL

BTW, anyone want to design a GB badge? I'm thinking the Italeri logo should be somewhat predominant. Thanks.

I'd like to join in on this GB, the september start date is cool with me. It gives me plenty of time to finish my other builds! I'd like to come on board with Italeri's Sd.Kfz.230 6 Rad. Armoured Car. Big Smile [:D]

Laugh [(-D] I jus' thought that this is a cool kit! I love this truck's shape, jus' look at that front end, awesome! I've read some reviews on it, and they're pretty positive! That's all I need, the green light is on!

I think this truck was superseded by later variants, wasn't it, and as a result was only in operation in the first year of the war?! I'll research it at a later date! Wink [;)]

To be honest, I know next to nothing about it myself. Was it a one off experiment with 6-wheels? I know of 4 and 8-wheeled version, but this is the only 6 I'm aware of.

I think it was replaced with the Schwere Panzerspahwagen Sd.Kfz.232 (8 Rad), don't quote me on it, though! Big Smile [:D]

The Schwere Panzerspahwagen 6-Rad was in production from 1932 to 1937. Daimler-Benz, Bussing-NAG and Magirus produced it. It was basically a modified truck chassis mounted with a armoured body. They were withdraw from front line service in 1940 because of a very limited mobility off road.

Right on! I could be limited in buildin' this kit! There's not much scope!

Well, you can built Sd Kfz 232 6-rad (Fu), the pic you posted.     There is also Sd Kfz 231 6-rad without the frame antenna, normal armoured car.    Last one is Panzerfunkwagen Sd Kfz 263 6-rad, a bit different from the other ones with a single MG 13, fixed turret, long range radio set with frame antenna and also a telescoping mast antenna..... look interesting Smile [:)]      Tell us how is the kit, I'm really interested in it and want to learn a bit more about it

This would be my first group build.

I will be building the:

ITA0225 Italeri 1/35 Sherman M4-A1
I know there are now quite a few options from DML but I will see what I can do with this one.
I'll be building mostly ootb with some scratch built stuff.

hi guys, well originally i had been leaning towards the zis-5 russian truck but,,, turns out this is a reboxed zvesda kit so i decided instead on the panther ausf.d, im not sure if i will use the kit tracks yet, tracks are my biggest gripe with italeri kits they are so hard and inflexible so i may find replacements the rest i will try keep as much oob as possible.Smile [:)]

welcome to the forums and groupbuild comet and cattledog.

It is still a nice, classic kit. Other than the stiff Italeri tracks and the step in the gun tube, the kit is quite well done, especially considering it is over 20 years old.

I think it's one of Italeri's new releases......it's a very interesting kit and comes with resin and etch parts in the box.

This kit is pretty cool, it comes with resin details, but i'm not sure whether Italeri have included any PE, though! Also, i've heard that the jerrycans along the side of the vehicle are single one-piece casts of resin, includin' the brackets! Seems strange to me, if it's true! Confused [%-)]

Yes there is a sheet of etch part's included in the kit.The jerry can's are a one piece plastic casting but look very well done.

I'm really itching to get started on this kit Smile [:)]
