Looks like a standard Dragon preview shot, unpainted etc. I'm just guessing, but I'd assume it includes anything you see. Won't be cheap, that's for sure - where did you find that Manny?

I am not much into soft skins. I would only go for one of these if i wanted it for a Diorama with a piece of armour. I am not sure i would go for this one over the Tamiya kit though.

Though not into WW1 armour myself, i do agree with doog in that it would be great to see these tanks from the early days of Armoured warfare.

While I have no doubt that some modelers will turn cartwheels at this offering, I have about zero interest in softskins.

I have to ask myself why the big manufacturers are basically ignoring the "big" WWI tanks--the Mark I-!Y, the Schenider, the French St Chamond, the German A7V. Some of these have been tackled in moderate quality by relatively obscure manufacturers, or in very pricy resin kits, but no one has really taken a serious crack at them.

I for one, would welcome a "Legacy" line, as a suggestion, that immortalizes these pioneer tanks and the real progenitors of what we now call a stereotypical "tank". With the success of Tamiya's Char B, I can't believe that the manufacturers don't see a market for it? I mean, there's basically an entire war being ignored.

I will agree wit my brother Gino. It is always nice to see softskins.....no it is not a Tiger of a Serman or a pz. or for that matter a hmmwv....but its German.....it seems the world ended in 1945 and did not come back until about 1990.....Like Rob stated, just trying to move te sheep from the Tamiya ranch to the Dragon ranch....using my words!!

I have the Tamiya Opel Blitz but i'll sell that sucker in a heart beat to buy the Dragon one.

That's basically what I alluded to; someone who has the Tamiya one, but now has to have the superior kit so someone else who doesn't really care one way or the other will score great deals on it.

I'll bet dollars to dimes that this one will knock the pants off the Tamiya one. As good as the Tamiya one is engineered the detail is somewhat lacking. In my opinion Tamiya is trading ease of construction for detail. Take their newish Stug III B... That kit pretty much falls together but many of the parts and details are pitifully oversimplified.The Citroen is another example.

Edit: To be fair, it really comes down to what you prefer. Some like a nice quick build that gives you a good replica of an Opel but others will appreciate the more minute details of the Dragon one which will require quite a bit more work even to build out of the box. Tigerman is right (in another post), there is something to be said for being able to build a nice model in a weekend rather than a year...

From the looks of the test-shot, it certainly is more detailed and has more options than the Tami-WOW-a offering: more expansive bed options, full engine, etc...

I like it.It definately beats another Panzer IV or Sherman release.

if they bring out the maultier  next i might be interested in a couple of those i have the old italeri truck and maultier i was going to use for conversions  and that would save me a bunch of time..

I like this thinking. The Italeri kit while good, could beneift with indy tracks at the least.

As stated above, it's a new area for Dragon and should be a hit if it is as good as their other kits.  I like softskins, not German though.  I'm sure others will love it.

As to if it is needed, sure why not.  It is at least as needed as another Tiger, Panzer III, or Sherman varient.  They seem to keep pumping out "new" versions of them and everyone gets all excited every time.
