It's a white-box release so there's got to be something, even if minor, that's "unique" or different about this particular variant that they are offering vs. the Tamiya kit. Could be a sign of more things to come in the softskin market from DML as a sort of test-run...so far as I'm aware, this is new territory for them. Softskins aren't my area so I can't say anything one way or the other about this particular offering and it isn't something that appeals to me...but can definitely see the benefits to dio builders.

I've no doubt that the Dragon kit is an accurate work of art, but since it's a subject not in my main area of interest, I'd most likely build the Tamiya kit (saw one at my local Hobby Lobby for $42 and there is a 40% off coupon), if I was to buy one. Most likely, I would look for German truck lovers who had bought the Tamiya kit, but hadn't built it yet and now just have to have the new Dragon kit and now want to dump the Tamiya kit.

Its funny to note that the Germans preferred using cross bed troop benches instead of running them along the side like the allies did. Can you imagine trying to una** that truck with someone shooting at you in full gear trying to step, climb or leap over those benches...no wonder they lost the war. Surprise

Though it does look to be an impressive kit!

I've built the new (2008) Tamiya offering of this truck and thought that noone else would bother, but leave it to Dragon to possibly outdo even Tamiya!
