Hello!

SprueOne - thanks a lot for your kind words! That plumbing looks very intimidating when you start checking out the TM drawings, it's a lot easier once you got it figured out.

Gamera - it's one hundred percent scratchbuilt - the M60A1 kit doesn'thave that part and I doubt that the CEV kit will haveit when it comes out al last. Thanks a lot for your comment!

Thanks again and have a nice day

Pawel

Hello!

I have another slow-moving update here - I've just finished building a part that at the beginning scared me really bad. But I have saved a small stash of those man-up pills and here it is - the hydraulic reservoir with all its plumbing and valves, that sits on the left side of the driver, in place, where on a regular M60 there is the ammo storage. Here's the part:

Now I'm working on the fuel tanks and the rear bulkhead - they will be very visible with the turret removable. Let's see how this turns out. Thanks for looking and have a nice day

Hi pawel .

That pleases me to see that the assembly restarted , when the lack of motivation is not , is better to make nothing .

 Good luck , guy .

Hello Phil!

Thanks a lot for your comment. You're right, forcing yourself to build something usually doesn't do anything good for you. Good luck with your builds and have a nice day

Hello!

Another small update - I have built a tray to go above the instruments, on the right side of the driver:

1:35 AFV Club M728 CEV by Pawel

From left to right we have an ammo pouch, an instruction placard, an intercom box C-2297, a canteen and an M3 "Greasegun" machine pistol. The canteen and the greasegun come from a Dragon figure set (1st Cav and Modern Tankers, respectively). The commo box comes from a set that was 3D-printed by Shapeways and was designed by our fellow member on these forums - mr. MikeyBugs95. The rest is scratchbuilt.

Thanks for looking and have a nice day

Nice work. The "instruction placard" was hand painted or a decal? Was the "Grease Gun" an automatic .45 ACP?

Hello!

Thanks a lot for your comments, gennulmen!

SprueOne - that's right, .45 ACP, full auto only - althought there was also a conversion kit (basically a new barrel and a new bolt) that allowed a quick conversion to 9mm Luger round.

Thanks for reading and have a nice day

Hello everybody!

And the funny day has finally come - AFV Club released their CEV and it hit the shelves:

AFV Club 1:35 M728 CEV kit

I think I'll buy this kit and use the parts from it to finish my CEV - this can still save me hours of work. At the same time I'm still committed to building an interior for this baby.

To help me do this I have taken the newest technology to help me - I mean the 3D printing. There's even a separate thread for this, here:

http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/modeling_subjects/f/3/t/180795.aspx

The good thing here is after I'm done with the 3D parts, anybody wanting to build a similar interior will be able to 3D print his own copy of my parts, that should be helpful.

Thanks for reading and have a nice day

Hello Stik!

I bet many people will be very happy bout this one. I actually am, too - I just wish I waited a bit longer before starting my project... Good luck with your CEV and have a nice day

Hello!

OK, so I got the new kit now! I really wish I waited those three years more to start the project! The new CEV is so nice! I'm still tinkering around the interior.

Have a nice day

I've been looking at building an M728 CEV for quite a while and would love to pick up this kit but at $119 AUD it's a bit on the steep side.

May have to stick with my original plan and convert a Tamiya M60 based on the Mar 95 FSM article!
