Tanker-Builder,

No need to apologise. If I do this one again, I'm thinking about about a postwar plumbing van owned by a couple of brothers named Mario and Luigi.

Grazie, CapnMac! With that, I've expended just about all of my conversational Italian until I start asking for food.  In case some of you might have been wondering about our club build, here's a picture of it. I hope the judges didn't have too hard a time finding it on the table. We placed second in the Club Build category.

Nice build and sweet looking display!  I especially like the printed background scene in the middle; it really sets off the eye candy!  Well done!

Thanks RealG and GraySnake! As for the club build, I was one of 39 builders and 76 models.

Now that is a display! Congrats on the 2nd place! You and your club must be proud of that!

Well done. :D

Guess I'm a little late but big congrads on a well deserved 2nd place (should have got 1st!)

Wish our club could get off our collective butts and build something that impressive.

Gamera,

All it takes is one guy with an idea. This isn't something that's done quickly. I know when I've done this, the idea has been in my mind for awhile. Once I've come up with a theme, let's say Mustangs of the World, I'll decide on the scale (1/72) and the model(s) to be used (for the D/K Tamiya, for the B/C Academy). Then I'll find out how many countries flew the plane and what decals are available for the various countries. Once that's done, I'll make a list for people to sign up on. I'll then present it to the club for their consideration. If it's a go, then it's like herding cats. You'll also have to decide on the base because it is the only category in which the base gets judged. We have a rule in our club, if you're in charge, it's your responsibility to get it to the Nationals. While it's a pain in the tuckus, it's also alot of fun.
