I just finished this same kit on Friday. It's a great kit - keep working through it. I put up a post of my build.

Mike: Ohhhhh, cool late-model Sherman!!!

Two questions though- the turret hatches look awfully large, is it my eyes? And do the driver's hatches open or are they molded shut?

The hatches do look to be a little over-sized, but I'm not worried about it. The driver and co-driver hatches are separate pieces.

However, there are no interior details except for the main gun breach which is why I left the turret hatches open.

Once again I seem to have started another project and I don't know when I'll get back to working on it again.

Just thought I'd share.

For 1/48 scale armor this isn't bad at all. There's even a touch of PE in the box. Two choices of turret styles and enough extra goodies to make a decent looking, hard working Sherman.

The only downside is the amount of flash on everything. Cleanup has taken most of my time just to get about halfway through this build, and I've been working on it periodically for about a month or so.

Tonight I finished assembling the turret. I modified it a bit by moving the .50 and adding the .30 for the TC. The details are pretty good and mostly all there. No guards for the periscopes, but I'm not minding.
