Gino, Harold, thanks. Getting the turret markings to lay down just requires patience and plenty of decal colution. I've resorted to the old standby Walthers on most of my models now.

You did a first-class job on this Russel. The weathering is perfect, especially the blade, It looks like the real thing. I also noticed how realistic the decals look on the turret. Getting over that big seam on the ERA and making it look painted on is quite a skill.

Well thanks. I need to get back to the Challenger and T-62, but I got to fiddling around with an old build, a very tongue in cheek "What-if " IDF Sherman that I had a couple of ideas on. Just for the pure fun of it, it looks more like a toon tank than the serious IDF what-ifs I often do.

That looks really good. I love the bare metal and dirt stuck to the blade.

Well I love it. That blade looks so real.

I don't see any room for improvement, but the dust is a must lol.

In my current quest to reduce the number of models at the 99% completed stage, this one got the final touches the other day. All the bits were ready, I just needed to get them on and do a final light dusting.

I finished the blade with some Rub'nBuffl, then a shot of clear followed by sand-gray acrylic. Some light scraping was next, with mixed pigments the last step. I wanted to show light use, so I also kept the overall weathering to an absolute minimum, for me anyway. Actually, I've done that a lot lately, as opposed to my usaul "nearly abandoned" look. Hmmm.....

I've been messing with too many winged things of late. But as always your work gets my motivations stirring.

Mmmm, dozer blade... that's hawt.

You know this does make it a bit easier for me to imagine my weird Magach variant a little better.

Looking fantastic, Russ!

Back on the Magachs, this one first:

Antennae are done, 30 cals ready too. I kept it clean, but I want to show lots of wear on the blade, so I actually found some Rub'n'Buff at a Hobby Lobby, haven't used that since I was a teenager.

T'anks G. Probably 85% finished: wheels are done, tracks are painted, lower hull washed and the whole thing is clear coated now, just needs an area wash, a pin wash here and there and some dust.

I think....

I'm quite happy with the mantlet ERA, even happier when I was able to get the mantlet MG mount on......

Not forgotten! After doing a bunch of figures (I don't like painting figures, but I had a lot of models with open hatches) I got back on this one and the 7C, not wanting to consign either to the "long dusty shelf". It took a while to get this to where I'm happy with it, but the mantlet armor is done and painted, along with the turret which I also finished. The hull is close too, hopefully have it in paint early next week.

Thanks Mike. We have decent wifi here at  the RV park, so I'll be lurking, watching for progress on your Magach. I brought Tamiya's new Stuart and a partially built GMC 6x6 with me, along with a few modeling tools, so I may get a little modeling in, if I feel the need.....

Thankee! It's very close to accurate on the upper half, it's the sides that I fudged on, and I may be able to correct that a bit when I add the ERA, but I just couldn't figure out how to add a couple of very small pieces to what I have so far. Once the blocks are on though, I'll have something to build off of, if that area is at all still visible. I'll find out later, we're off the the beach for a couple of weeks, taking advantage of my enforced time off and my wife's ability to work out of another office and our travel trailer.

That looks good! No idea if it's accurate to not but that's some nice scratchbuilding work. Yes
