In my current quest to reduce the number of models at the 99% completed stage, this one got the final touches the other day. All the bits were ready, I just needed to get them on and do a final light dusting.

I finished the blade with some Rub'nBuffl, then a shot of clear followed by sand-gray acrylic. Some light scraping was next, with mixed pigments the last step. I wanted to show light use, so I also kept the overall weathering to an absolute minimum, for me anyway. Actually, I've done that a lot lately, as opposed to my usaul "nearly abandoned" look. Hmmm.....

Well I love it. That blade looks so real.

I don't see any room for improvement, but the dust is a must lol.

That looks really good. I love the bare metal and dirt stuck to the blade.

Well thanks. I need to get back to the Challenger and T-62, but I got to fiddling around with an old build, a very tongue in cheek "What-if " IDF Sherman that I had a couple of ideas on. Just for the pure fun of it, it looks more like a toon tank than the serious IDF what-ifs I often do.

You did a first-class job on this Russel. The weathering is perfect, especially the blade, It looks like the real thing. I also noticed how realistic the decals look on the turret. Getting over that big seam on the ERA and making it look painted on is quite a skill.

Gino, Harold, thanks. Getting the turret markings to lay down just requires patience and plenty of decal colution. I've resorted to the old standby Walthers on most of my models now.
