As always, a magnificent Sherman from the master! The wooden-framed case really adds a touch of class to the steel brute.
I've built several models as gifts, and some on request.
My next door neighbor flew Phantoms in Viet Nam, so in my youth I finished Revell's 1/32 F-4J as his aircraft. He loved it!
My dad's also a Viet Nam vet, so I built Monogram's (I believe...) Viet Nam Memorial kit for him. He kept it on his desk at work! He was in the "brown water Navy, " so I offered to build him a PBR, but he said he'd rather not remember those days in that much detail! I think that may be an important thing to consider when building a model for somebody: make sure they want to remember it! We don't want to dredge up any horrible memories!
I also made a '73 VW Beetle for dad, which brought back fond memories for him.
I also built Revell's George Washington nuke sub for the local Pilot's Club, and a coupla Harleys (from Revell's CHiPs models!) for a local motorcycle club.
Giving is fun!
