Another quality Quintiliani job, Gino! The camo is indeed superb.

Looks like the drybrushing inadvertently highlighted the edges of the "DEATH DEALER" decal, but other than that, a flawless build!

I said it once before, so I'll say it again ... stunning camo job!

Painting my kit just OD just won't do now!

I love it, just love it, is it going into a Dio, or just to the Shelf with this one? great work and I love the decals and the extra work that you put into it.

That's a good looking "Alpha Duece". Was 1/32 Armor a mixed outfit? I was in 1/64 and we had two companies of A1's and one company of A2's. I never did serve on them although I was on Sheridans. Good looking build and paint job.

Thanks, glad you guys like it.

For the mini-history lesson:

The M60A2 was developed to counter the Soviet hordes in Europe. It was a US Army tank, and only used by the US. It had the same 152mm combination gun/missile launcher as the Sheridan recon-tank. It was built on the M60A1 chasis and was used from the early '70s till the mid-'80s. It was plagued with problems because it was so advanced and went down as a footnote in history. Pretty cool looking though.

More info on it at Patton-Mania: http://www.patton-mania.com/M60_Patton/m60_patton.html#M60A2

That is too cool. Great job, HeavyArty. I posted before... Where it went, I don't know.

M60A2 CBSS finished

I have completed my M60A2 CBSS. Thanks to all who helped me out with advice and referances along the way.

For a recap of the build, I used the Tamiya M60A2 turret, Revell (ex-Esci) M60A3 hull (since it is the best one on the market), and a resin CBSS Bulge from fellow modeler Robert Skipper. I added new spot light and mount from an M48A3, new barrel without bore evac and correct length (kit one is 3mm too short), added cast texture to the turret and commander's cupola, forge mark and casting numbers to turret side, clips for tow cable, cut mud relief holes in sprockets, made tow cables out of ones from another kit and ship's rigging rope, added wipers to the GPS and Commander's sight, etc., etc. I used the octagonal block length and link track from the A3 kit as well.

You can see and read more about the build in the Armorama Rivet Review Board forum.
http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=SquawkBox&file=index&req=viewtopic&topic_id=62035&page=1

I finished it in European Temperate MERDC scheme and custom made the markings for tank # 15, A Company, 1st Bn, 32nd Armored Regiment, 3rd Armored Division, stationed in West Germany in the late 1970's. I used a little artisctic license and named it "Death Dealer" and added an Ace of Spades card with the Grim Reaper on it that I found on the internet to the turret sides. I made all the decals on my home computer/printer and printed them onto clear decal film by Papilio art supplies.

Without further ado:
