Well dispite the pain I just worked for the past hour and made some progress. I put together one of the missile racks on the inside. I promise to try to get some pics tomorrow. I don't have Marching Band practice so I have about 3 and 1/2 hrs before Lacrosse weight lifting so I should get some pics up.

By the way great lookng builds everybody.

Biffa : Nice camo pattern. Luv it.

Comet : Nice job so far. Good to see some British cruiser tanks for a change.

As for me, I am scheduled to visit the LHS this coming Friday to get my kit so I may start this weekend. Yehey!Big Smile [:D]

Hetzer Update - Damage Report

Well, I had a little setback this weekend.  The Hetzer, as well as my M18 took a tumble during a domestic "accident" Shock [:O].  The M18 received minor damage, only a few dents and broken parts.  The Hetzer upper hull took it on the chin.- quite a few broken and damaged parts.  Since I have a trip to LA this week, there'll be very little time for me to make up the lost ground.  Looking forward to the weekend to finish repairs.

Some wonderful progress from everyone. My truck is built, and the basecoat is on. I'll see if I can snap a few pics this weekend, along with another project I just finished.

Hey Comet,

Just to be safe I leave mine on for a week for a wash. I use an enamel and thinner wash though. The main reason I give mine a week is because I usually can't do much modeling during the week so I spray it Sunday night and let it set all week. If you're are using an acrylic and water wash it should be cured enough in a couple days. It also depends on the heat and humidity. I spray out in my garage then bring it back into the house and put a box of some kind over it so it will not collect dust. Hope this helps you.

Is there a photo 101 class somewhere on the forum? I've tried posting my pics but it doesn't seem to work. What I have done was to put my pics on the desktop and then drag them to the post like I do for e-mail but the post doesn't accept them. Any suggestions would be helpful.

You can't post your photos directly into a forum post.  You have to have them hosted on an online web hosting website such as photobucket.

  1. Go to www.photobucket.com
  2. Set up an account (they're free)
  3. Upload your photos to photobucket
  4. Copy the 3rd link that they provide you after your photo us uploaded
  5. Paste it the link into your forum post

and voila, your pictures will show up in your posts. Smile [:)]

Hey Comet,

Another great wash is to use watercolors. The kind the kids use. PanzerWulf told me about them after I was saw one of his great tank builds. They work really great. You can mix them to make any color wash you want.

Tman, I guess I didn't join up on this one eh? Can I do it with my Italeri M109 converted into M109 Doher? I worked on it all weekend since I had a few days off. It's a commission build, but I thought I'd try to join up since it is an Italeri model, which I just realized LOL. It came in Best Value models box, but ya know... let me know if it's cool!

I know the rules are must be a new start, or barely started.  I sat down for three days in a row now and worked on this beast for about 9 hrs. per day.  I am behind on a deadline and there was alot of scratch building involved.  Since I just started up, now, all I have are the pre paint pics.  Anyway,  a little history, this is an IDF Doher, which was used during this summer's conflict with Lebannon...  It is the Italeri M109 kit with Azimut/best value models resin conversion.  The turret is resin, the tracks are AFV club tracks.  I scratch built the antislip bars on the front of the hull...  If you can see the figures, it's a CMK IDF tanker.  Hope you like it...

now it's primed with Mr. Surfacer 1000...

So I did take pics but I am unable to post them since I am up to my head in homework which is a lot of homework since the top of my head is 6 feet 7 inches above the ground. Again Im sorry but Im just really busy and I need to get good grades this quarter.

Fortunately it is Monday so tonight me and my dad are going to be modelling tonight. So Ill get more done.

Please do. If you can finish more than one kit for the GB, the better for you and us all.

Wow!!! This GB is really hoppin'. Everybody's got some fantastic work done, everything looks great!! As for myself, I don't really have any progress to report. I've been busy trying to get my car models organized for sale. I'm going to try to thin the herd by about 200.(More cash for armour). I'm going to try to get in some time during the week to at least get the Demag assembled.

Aye, that it is.  I'm thinking I may drop a couple of my other builds so I can participate in this one while it's hot.  Cool [8D]

That's the spirit. I'm glad to see this build so "talkative", some just fade away into the night.

let us see if we can make it even more so

italeri like many companies use other companies molds

this goes out to all

if you can give a trace history of your model

what i mean is what other companies have shared the same mold of what you are building weither it b4 italeri used it or after

Got some pictures done today. I took them really fast, but plan to experiment a bit more with my camera. I'm almost ready to paint the inside, maybe next weekend. I want to add some extra detail in the already busy interior and see what happens. Wink [;)]

Durr - That's a really cool idea.  Trace the ancestry of the model.  I don't know how much I'll be able to find out, but it will be a very interesting exercise.

Thanks for sharing your idea,

Larry
