I found the M108 on eBay.... pretty reasonable too.  I've not seen any of these previously.  As old as the kit is, it still had the original plastic packaging and is in perfect condition.  Now it's up to me to do it some justice.  There's a Revell(Italeri) M109 on ebay currently - Buy it Now for $18.20 + $6 shipping.

http://cgi.ebay.com/1-35-REVELL-105MM-PzH-M109-A3G1_W0QQitemZ320025944353QQihZ011QQcategoryZ2588QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The 108 seemed kind of unique, which is why I went for that one.

Best Regards,

Larry

Some great builds going on,everything looks excellent Big Smile [:D]

I'm lagging behind abit this week as she who must be obey'd has decided it'll be a great idea to turn my hobby room into a utility roomCensored [censored]So I'm in the middle of relocating everything into the attick.Cant really complain as there is a ton of space up there which means I can increase the size of my stashBig Smile [:D]

This is where I'm at with the Italeri commando car so far. This is for the Wheeled Warriors GB.I'v just been bitting and bobbing on it while I wait for the Klear to cure on the Crusader.

Hetzer - Final Report: "I'll call it Finished".

I reported last weekend the setback to my Hetzer due to "friendly fire".  I've pieced it back together, attached the antenna and applied decals. After some additional minor weathering I took it outside to take some photos.  Trying to add a bit of scenery to the picture, I got too much scenery on the model, which stuck solid since I had just finished spraying a flat finish on it. I worked pretty hard to get the running wheels looking good, but you'll never be able to tell since they covered up by the scenery.  In any regard Mr Tigerman Sir, I submit this vehicle to the Italeri Group Build battalion, and will await further orders.

I have a couple more Italeri model kits - Elefant and a Jagdpanther, plus I just purchased a 1985 Testors M108 Howitzer (picture below) kit.  I'll be finishing the M18 shortly and move on to a new project.  There's plenty of time to enter another model into this group build I think.  So I may be back in a little bit.  Cheers and thanks to all, and salute Tigerman.

Here's the old 1985 M108 kit.  I think it's a great looking vehicle.

That's a beautyfull Hetzer Larry, I like the dark color of it.  The overall weathering is quite nice.  The only comment is about the sand which is way to big, it is out of scale.  But you did very well with that kit. Thumbs Up [tup]

Biffa, that is a great looking Panther. I hope you don't mind, but I've saved the pics to use as an example for when I eventually build mine.

i appreciate the feed back guys its not quite finished yet just a little more weathering and final details to do, the zim was a $1 curiosity buy on ebay its from a company called show modeling and its made from paper Smile [:)] naturally i was curious so i bought it and tried it out and although its not cavalier i was quite suprised that at didnt look too bad once it was on and messed up a bit, basically you just cut it out with sissors and glue it on i used testors liquid glue and it worked fine, anyway final pics up in next day or two.

zok you are more than welcome to the pics, i think thats the best compliment there is, i have many pics of peoples builds saved and i know theres at least a couple of yours.Smile [:)]

A day late and a dollar short-
Posted by CarnivourousDonut on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 8:03 PM

Is it too late to get in on the group build? I err...tracked down an old 38(t) I've been wanting to build. Model box says Revell/Italaerei (sp?) copyright 1976, though I don't think there's much difference between that one and the later Testors/Italeri one...

Well, I actually got off my butt and put plastic to glue tonight.... Really nice kit overall, as Italeri's releases seem to get better with experience....

Lots of little fiddly bits on this one, and I've left off the wheels, but the vast majority of the assembly is done.  Ready for some gray primer undercoat before the painting for this weekend.  Some minor gaps to be filled, etc.  Anyhow, just a couple of photos to show that I'm actually doing something on this one...

Welcome. We're only a month into the 4 month GB, so glad to have you and your 38t. Got an extra return roller? I lost one.

Matt, what did you circle on the Dukw?

I replaced the old DUKW_1.jpg photo that I was using for an explanation about sandbags (idea dropped) and now the new DUKW_1.jpg is a shot of the new one.  Primer coat goes on tonight, then preshading the panel lines along the sides and top tomorrow night.  Might actually have this one finished up this weekend.  Gotta scrachbuild the M36 machine gun mount legs as the one's from Tamiya's kit are for the 6 x 6 truck, and the legs are designed for an "over the cab" application.  GO GO Gadget STYRENE!

Greetings,

Thanks for letting me in. With 19+ pages, I guessed this was near the end, as opposed to the beginning.

I'll check and see if a return roller was spare anywhere. I did notice some spare wheels or reasons unknown...

Well I got the Mk1 Crusader finished up today(are they ever finished?),It's been a pleasure to build.
I used the Eduard etch and fender sets along with a Jordi Rubeo barrel and it's finished in Tamiya acrylics with oil wash and MIG pigments.
This was my first time using a full etch set and I'm very pleased with the results.

Any comments welcome as this is my first time posting a build online and value your critisism/adviceSmile [:)]

Seeing as there's still plenty of time to run on this GB I'll be doing Italeri's Puma next as the Commando Jeep is for the Wheeled Warriors GB.

The Jeeps been nice to build EricSmile [:)]

I'm trying to build all the varients of the Jeep that were used by the British and Commonwealth forces during the war and this one will fit into the collection nicely.

Cheers Glyn. That Crusader turned out real nicely. The dusty effect came off well. The only thing that stands out are the tracks. Is there any way to glue them down?

CarnivoriousDonut, if you have an extra return roller, I'd be much obliged.

Eric,

I would like to change my entry for the GB to the 7.5cm Howitzer with Servants. I was able to drop by the LHS last night and pick it. It is a small kit with 4 figures. I like it because of the diorama possibilities.

I'll post progress pics by tomorrow.

I'd like to keep it simple. More of a vignette really. Just the kit OOB on a small base with some foliage and probably a small structure. I am currently out of display space at home so I'd like to keep it small. Smile [:)]

Comet, your Crusader looks great! I hope mine comes out as well as yours. Which needless to say is still in progress. I'll get some wip pics in this weekend.

Thursday night update....

Just a little progress, mainly spraying the undercoat... pre-shading for tomorrow and painting over the weekend.

Here's my semi-scratchbuilt M36 .50cal ring mount... looks rough now, but should be ok after priming and painting...
