It looks pretty darned nice to me Zoran. I really like the weathering, a bit subtle for you, but perfect to me. A very nice build.

She looks happy rolling on that base Smile [:)]

Nice looking build.

As for me, well this is my first model to get a German gray finish, and while its ok, its really convinced me that I need more practice. I'd appreciate any kind of input into an effective way to paint a german gray scheme..

For now, I'm calling this done.

It looks fine to me Terry. Your weathering is quite convincing. Now grab your badge mate.

Terry here, just got this little piece of crap on a base. The bad mould lines are everywhere, I just can't wait to finish.

Regards,

Terry.

That's my airbrush of choice. I clean it between colours with alcohol but when I CLEAN it I use Mastercraft lacquer thinner. It's cheap and it's not as strong as automotive lacquer. I don't think your airbrush is dirty though, I think you need to replace the little white teflon seal behind the head. They have a habit of getting compressed over time and they start to leak. I remember when they sold Badger bees wax to seal it. Sheesh, that made me feel old.

Hope I helped,   Ron.

Hey, thanks a lot Ron. I'm going to get some soon. Do you let it soak in? or you just clean and scrub?

Awesome Dwight, I love your camo on your figures.  Looking at the collars thought, are they Wehrmarcht?  I thought only SS were wearing camo (something looked as funny by other troops, I believe)     I might be entirely wrong though, so somebody correct me if I am.      Again, awesome. Hope mine turns out that good when I do it. Thumbs Up [tup]

Frankly speaking, I don't have much of a clue. I don't have much info on this item or the units that used it. I just followed what was shown in the boxart. Smile [:)]

Thanks for the comments and points raised guys. I appreciate it very much.

Wow, look at all those great builds!

Sorry I haven't participated much in the discussions here as I have some personal issues to settle at the moment. However, I have managed to work on my entry for this GB. It's not 100% complete yet as I am planning to add some minor items to the base. But here are some pics. The paint is still wet in some areas through. The pics are a bit dark as I took it last night.

I'll take better pics next time.

Haha, I was right. I'm glad we didn't get into a bidding war. BTW, Greatmodels has the Eduard Hetzer Late for $44.75. Seems reasonable, if you want interior and whatnot.

Dwight, good to see you and your build coming around.

I got the rubber on the tires painted (not much rim to play with, so sloppy job IMO) and starting to get really serious about finishing this build before the holidays. I'm debating whether to use Future or not, for I'm putting on Archer crosses and that's all. My experience with washes, is that they don't seem to adhere to Future, kind of run off. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I don't pretend to be a weathering guru, for I'm not.

Larry, a bit OT, but was that you that was bidding on the DML Hetzer the other day? Me too. LOL Sad thing is I bought that years ago, but the tracks scared me off, so I sold it. Well, no more. It was a great looking kit too. I got it super cheap at a rare sale at the now defuct LHS.

Yup, that was me, using the very cryptic eBay ID LarryPCross.   I have a DML Hetzer Command version I found on eBay about a couple months ago. I forgot what I paid, but it must have been a good deal, or I wouldn't have purchased it.

I am eyeing the Eduard Hetzer early version.  I looked at the box at the LHS and now I must have it.  It's about $60 retail, and I put a best offer on the one that's currently at $49, but it was too low.  I think $49 is not a bad price at all for that kit, but I think I need to earn some more badges before I spring for something like that.

Funny thing is that in fact I did super-glue the tracks down.  You should have seem 'em before.   I think I could have done better overall, but I did enjoy the build, and this GB, and learned a lot in the process.

Thanks for the kind feedback J-M, Eric, and Zokissima.  Your encouragement is very much appreciated.   Next stop - Self Propelled Artillery GB.

It looks nice Larry, I can't figure out what you didin't do right. It does looks glossy. Anyway you can glue your tracks down? Just an observation. I know Italeri's can be a bit stiff. We should have an extra badge for members who finish more than one build here. LOL Kudos Larry.

M108 - Final report (I think)

It didn't quite turn out quite the way I expected, but I'm going to call it finished before I muk up the finish again.  I sprayed it with a dull flat finish, but it doesn't look dull or flat to me.  What did I do wrong this time?  I worked on the exterior of this guy quite a while, repainted re-weathered....each time getting progressively less satisfactory results.  But I'm OK with it for my 3rd complete model.  Plenty more in my stack to do - I've started the Academy M12, and will partially assemble my new "test" model - Tamiya Chieftan to practice painting and weathering.

I've added a slight artistic perspective to the photo shots to add a little zing to what is a pretty plain build.

Best Regards to all,

Larry

Terry here with a quick update, I got a few hours to try a new method of applying paint chips, well its kinda new to me. I seen a job done recently by Mig Jiminez where he applied a coat of lighter paint around the paint chips to represent the underlying coat I thought it looked really cool so tried it.

This is the only part of this build I have enjoyed.

Regards,

Terry.

Thanks for the welcome Tigerman!

I hope to get something started this weekend but there is a model show up here today and I'm heading out the door in 45 minutes.

Maybe I can pick up some M-20 related stuff there? :)

Cheers, SJD
