Hi all. I would like to jump in to the group build if I might?

I am newly returned to the hobby. Been away for over 10 years and I am interested in building mostly OOB M-20 Scout Car No. 366

Cheers, SJD

I have never joined a group build can you tell me how they work? I have an Italeri M4A1 that I have been fiddling with.

Hi modelbuilder. Nothing really to it. You generally build the same kit or something related to it, depending on the subject of the build. This being the Italeri build, you can build any scale and any kit that is Italeri or Italeri molds loaned or bought by another company.

The fun part, aside from building, is sharing your thoughts and kind of giving reviews of the kits as you go. Not everyone tells every step, but makes notice of pitfalls and whatnot. Pictures are encouraged, but not mandetory.

If you'd like to join, there is still plenty of time until the GB officially ends.

Which AB are you using?

Thanks Tigerman, like I said nice little kit with no major problems. Heck I don't even recall any minor problems.

You should be able to click on the badge and copy, then paste into your personal bio. Either that or go to Steve for the info.

Love the Crusader. Excellent. I just got Osprey's Crusader book and found some neat variations. I still need one.

Well, I'm a little early for my weekend update but I think I've finished my crusader. Tell me what you guys think.

Let me know if you see anything that needs fixin.

Other than that I'm off to the South Pacific GB where I'll be working on a P-61. If I get done with that and still have time left on this GB I might jump back in with a Tiger tank. I'll still be checking in on everyone elses progress. Thanks for everyones help with my project.

My other picture of the toned down camo didn't turn out, so I'll try again tomorrow. Must admit that ad-libbing German camo can be frustrating.

Beautiful day today for late October.

Sorry GT. Are you using a compressor? I found that I only had that problem with a propellant-can. Perhaps water in your compressor? I'm lucky, I don't seem to have that problem either.

Whoo-hoo, on a good note for me, I've got the camo laid down and hope to have some pics soon, my other computer with the Easy-share is tied up right now. I must point point out my glee, I'm never satisfied with the first spraying of camo, but I let it go. One note on this camo, I have no idea how accurate it is for my refs were piddley. All I could find was some big spots and another with lines like a late war Jagdpanther. That didn't seem right.

Censored [censored]     I was planning to get my interior painted tonight, but my airbrush decided otherwise. It was such an uneven flow and spitting that I was almost tempted to put it out of its misery.  I will clean it up good tomorow, strip my painting attempt and start later this week end.

Sigh...... I like 10 times better building than painting.....

Yes, I was planning on the 3-tone. Probably big splotches randomly applied. I just can't find anything good for this particular vehicle.

The build's looking good Eric.Big Smile [:D]

I'm at abit of a loss for the camo on my Puma,I'm not really clued up on German WW2 armour so wondered if you guy's had any suggestion's?

Were they painted to set patterns or was it a case of anything goes?

Thanks Glyn. I got a Puma too and it's ready for camo also. I'm leaning on a one-color green or little squiggly patterns that I've seen. I agree it's been hard to find patterns for these vehicles. I really thought Ron's bold camo with the red and green looked awesome. I hate to take his idea.  Big Smile [:D]

Wbill did the one color green that is another inspiration.

Yeah I'v seen Bill's paintwork on his site, look's excellent. That's the same sort of pattern that the instruction's show.
I'v got my paint now so I'll strike up the airbrush tommorrow and see what happensBig Smile [:D]

Hey Eric, are you doing a 3 tone scheme?    I should get my interior painted tomorrow. I was planning to do it flat white, not including the gun shield. The rest will be regular panzer gray.I will depict a vehicle used early in the war. I will post pics when I'm done with the inside.

Thanks NMT. It's been dragging, only because of me though. It's a pretty good fitting kit overall, just some nasty pin marks in obvious places. I just need a good camo.

Hey Tigerman, that is building up quite nice. I was wondering how your build was coming since there had not been any pictures posted in a long time. It is really looking nice though.

Here's the latest, not much to report, hope to get the camo on tomorrow. I ran out of good light. Most of the construction is finished. Going to bore out the end of the muffler with my exacto.

Thanks for the kind comments Tigerman and Comet.

Comet, are these tanks not supposed to be dusty? I like your crusader and was just hoping for mine to come out that well. Maybe your pictures don't show the effects so well, but I thought your crusader was quite impressive.

I suppose that the enviroment that these tanks worked in would make them be caked in dust so I'v decided to leave it as is,that's for the compliment btw Big Smile [:D]

Ron,that 234/1 look's excellent.I really like the mudding up as it look's very natural.I'm still stuck on what camo to lay on my Puma.
