So I opened the boxes for this build yesterday, but  I've been building a Trumpeter KV this weekend.  I'll probably start cutting plastic tomorrow.

I was surfing around on the net and stumbled on this site. It's got some pretty good inside information on the kits we're building.

Italeri Group Build: DDay + 1, 1423 Hours - Surprise attack - one casulty.  My Hetzer kit  is missing one of its drive sprockets.  It's a used kit - purchased on eBay, shrink wrap removed but all parts seemed to have been present and accounted for.  No spare parts either !!  Have I lost the battle before it's even begun?   To this I say "Nuts" !   I will attempt a sprocket conversion from a spare piece I have from the Academy M18 Hellcat kit.

Larry

That sucks Larry, hope you can fix it.

Since I recently completed a Panzer I B, I decided to start my build with the 47 mm instead of the running gear. I have a few references pics of a surviving exemple in Koblenz Museum, and I realised that I will have to make a few changes to make it look a bit like the real thing. I found out that the end part of the muzzle brake is too long. More importantly, the kit is probably based on that surviving example, witch as been desactivated. The vertical sliding breech block is molded in the upward closed position and as a hole wich might make you think that this is where to load the ammo. It is in fact missing the firing mechanism. I used my punch and dice set to plug it.  No major isssues so far though.

Looks like a lot more pieces than my kit Customizer.

So far everything is going nicely. Most of the running gear and hull are in place. No real work until I get to the gun shields. At least that is what I see. LOL

Awwwright!!! This model has been staring at me for a couple of months now. I have no idea how I'm going to built it yet but I'm going to blow the dust off it and get going.

It looks pretty detailed and since I haven't worked with individual links yet, it should provide a challenge.

WANT TO?  Nope.. I kinda have to.. but I found a 3 min video shot by one of the defense contractor personnel of the first HUMRAAM doing some test firings... so I have some decent quality shots of the real thing in action...

Is it 5:00 PM yet????

Tongue [:P]I'll start a new topic and post pictures regularly, otherwise Tigerman's topic will be a mammooth one, with hard-to-find individual subjects.

Matt, those kits look tempting. Hands off!

Bah, almost got away with it... just kidding, I spent the evening trying to figure out the dimensions to scratchbuild my 5 AMRAAMs for the Hummer... A 7" diameter in 1/35 scale is 0.2"... should be real fun.... same with the launcher base, etc... at least the kit came with the doors, but I'll be adding a scratchbuilt roof for the cab, and some antenna, etc...

Here's my kit. Not much to it. I might be able to get her done. I'm worried about the decals. They are old. I might be able to use some Archer transfers for the crosses. The tracks are Tamiya's. I may steal the MG out of the Marder III kit too. Otherwise verrrryyyy OOTB.

Ygmodeler, you have way more stamina than I. Unfortunately I work tomorrow. However, when I get home, the lid comes off the box and the glue. About time!

Anybody have any good camo refs for the Marder III H? I'm just not finding anything suitable.

Matt, those kits look tempting. Hands off!
