Duke - there was a mirage of a Trumpeter Group Build going on late last year.  I jumped in and built the Trumpeter Sturer Emil.  The GB seemed to have evaporated, but I really enjoyed the heck out of building the Sturer, as well as researching the info on that vehicle.

I've got one of the Trumpeter KV-1s, the KV-2, and several others.....so I have some ammo in case someone decides to start another Trumpert GB.

Jean-Michel - I'm loving the photos of your build.  I particularly like the finishing work you've done thus far.  Paint job = A super+ , and I am really struck by the detailing of the tool attachments.  After seeing your artwork, I'm hesitant to post the pictures of the SU-152 I'm working on for this GB.  But I will anyhow.....so everyone - get your tomatoes and rotten apples out and ready to pitch.

Thanks Larry, I apreciate your comments    This is my 4th serious attempt at airbrushing, and I learned a few tricks with this build, like filling in the corners and difficult areas first a low pressure and close to it. It was the first time I actually played with the pressure, many times during the session, and I will do it again      I will have to take the next step up when I paint my build for the SPG GB, 3 tone camo scheme.... I detailled most of the tools  with styrene. The wire cutter only as the head original, the rest is scratchbuild. The tool clamps came from Eduard. And I installed them correctly this time!!! (the instructions were way clearer than my Panzer I B ) I'm going to the other tread to look at your SU-152. You have been doing excellent paint work so far with your previous build, I'm sure you'll do even better this time!

This one should have ended on January 15, but since a bunch of us were not completed, it was decided to keep this one till it dies. I believe I am the only one that hasn't finish yet. Some guys did 2 builds    I think this tread will perish when I will be done. I might go in the # 2 after.....  we'll see.

I started working on the tracks last night. I read a few treads and will try the following. I started with a blast of hair spray, which is suppose to prevent the paint from flaking. I also just completed a base coat of Tamiya flat black. I will follow this tonight by a mix of Flat black and metalic grey.

Hopefully, there will be no flaking.

I know I won't future them right away, paint flaked from my tool clamps

I did some work on the tracks. After reading this tread about painting vynils tracks, I decided to try the hairspray method to prevent chipping. So far so good.

This is the track after hairspay, XF-1 Flat black primer, and another light coat of a mix of XF-56  at 90%, XF-1 at 10% and  a equal amount of thinner.

If I mess up and have to restart again, I would replace the Metallic Grey by Gun Metal for a darker shine. Here's a comparison of a Gun metal painted track on my Panzer I B compared to my Panzerjager track:

Now, I'm waiting to see the results of that pastel wash.

I'm satified how the tracks turned out. A really good way to do them actually. But as I said before, I will substitute the metallic grey by gun metal next time. I'll get some pics maybe tomorrow, when the stove top is not dirty

Something to be carefull with though, when you apply the pastel wash, make sure you dip in the pastel powder first, and then in the water. As I didn't spray a coat of future prior too, the paint slightly came off where I did the opposite.
