Yann this is amazing. When i first saw the detail i was blown away. I just hope one day i'll be as good a modeler as you are.

Ok, a small update:

I'm almost done with the fighting compartment, there is still some wiring and plumbing to do but I felt ready to take some pictures.  I have painted the interior with a mix of Tamiya white 90% and Tamiya Buff 10% to give an old white look.  I felt that the floor of a tank would become very dirty with time so I weathered it using Mig pigments.

I tried to make custom decals for the dials and gauges but I haven't been able to do something convincing enough so I ended up scribbing them, please tell me how do you like them.

When I wanted to install the bulkhead that seperates the fighting compartment from the engine compartment, I wanted to let the access doors open so we could see the details of the engine when looking thru the turret hatch.  I started to make the surgery on the bulkhead supplied wwith the kit but I quickly find out that it was WAY too thick.

So I had to scratchbuild a brand new one.  The kit one was not completely accurate neither so I had to look at the reference I had to correct some of the lement found on the bulkhead panel.  The result is a thin partition wall with good definition IMHO.

 also started to add the details at the rear of the hull to allow for the rear panel to be shown open.

So this is where I am right now, still a lot of work to do but it's a lot of fun.  I love big scale. :D

I can't even begin to imagine the effort required to create something of that detail.

How do you plan to cut the styrene sheet?  I just got my Chopper II, but I can see that being useful for making multiple for small, straight cuts.

Your mine-roller looks like a compolete kit all by itself.

Now here is another shot of my PT-3 but in a 3D drawing format. 

I've been designing the mine roller attachment the last few days and now I have all the plans ready to be used.

As for the T-34 itself, the mine roller attachment has been made in different models.  I made this drawing with all the pictures and drawings that I had in my possession and I think I have it right.  Actually, I made the discs attachment from one model and the boom from another one.

Thesecond image is what I will print on a self adhesive transparency that I will put over the styrene sheets to cut them out.

Hi Larry, it's good to hear from you again.  Thanks for the kind words.  This project is by far the most complicated of all previous model I made.  Not because the kit is not well engineered but because I want it to be as accurate as possible and as detailed as can be.  I made some more work in the last few days but haven't post anything cause it doesn't look like progress.  There are serious surgery to do on that kit to get it very accurate but it is fun to do.

I'm also motivated enough to scratchbuilt a complete PT-3 Mine Roller attachment for that beast.  I'm in the planning process right now and all I can say is ....... I have a lot of work ahead of me.  But hey ..... what the heck....... I can do it.

I might bring this build to a second level.  I noticed that the Airconnection book has the scale drawings of the "Mine Roller" attachment. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I might scratchbuilt it.  That would be really cool and it would be my first real scratchbuild.  Now I need to find a Russian T-34/85 mod. 1944 that had that attachment if it ever existed.

Here is a quick update on my build.  I maneged to do some wiring inside.  I also installed rods on the drivers controls.  The model was not very accurate and the cam shaft (transfer shaft????) was missing.  This is located undr the driver'S seat and all controls are linked to it before going at the back of the tank.  So I digged in the sparebox and scratchbult one.

It's not finished, there is still some parts to install, like springs on the steering sticks.  Here is a picture of the spring I made with copper wire. (it is not attach where it is supposed to.)

Now I need your opinion:  I've read that the complete interior was painted white and the instructions says that also (I know, instructions are most of the time wrong) but in the reference color pictures I have in both the Airconnection book and the Toadsman CD the walls and ceiling are white but the floor look like a greyish green.  BUT, these pictures are the ones of a Polish tank.
Does anyone have any idea of the correct color for a Russian one?

Oh yeah!  I've seen almost the same level of details on a 1/72 scale T-34/85 and I must say I'm not talented enough to achive this.  That's why I like big scale.  I can scratchbuilt and super detail more easily.  1/35 is the smallest I will ever do.
