ive got a alan waffertrager!

yyyaaa might want to think twice about this one.

pretty rough kit, lots of thick parts with lots of sink marks in them.

the gun mount is so terrible that i am either going to have to scratch build one or hope somebody comes out with a resin upgrade for this kit.

right now it is in "shelf test" mode in my stash.

i have just started looking at this post, and  are thinking about participating in the gb.  but am a little confused about what it is all about. you see i have add and reading through a long thread like this to get the jist of it is tough for me.

can any one cut to the chase and tell me what this gb is all about in a nut shell????

"Hunters" are tank destroyers. Vehicles designed specifically for the self-propelled anti-tank (tank hunter) role.

So the idea of the build is, each of us builds a tank hunter. Check the first post for more info.

If you'll refer to the very first post, I think it's pretty self explanatory. Basically, a GB is group of builders whom build a theme related kit in an alotted time frame. In this case it's about vehicles that were classified as tunk-hunters, i.e. non-MBT vehicles. Most were turretless, but a few examples such as the M-10, M-18, M-36, and Achilles were turreted.

So, check out the first post to hopefully answer most of your questions and jump aboard.

i have a nashorn that i started 10 years ago on my desk that is slated for a bunch of upgrades, ya know , the old 1st realease dragon kit.

will this qualify?  or do i need to start from scratch?

Oh, I know the kit. I have it. From time to time, I make a bit of progress on it. Now that I'm au fait with the the circle template trick, I might get the bogie wheels finished. When I was in New Zealand, I had my girlfriend at the time helping me with it. She seemed to like fitting the track links together.

Why is it that when the newer ones were released, Dragon didn't recall those old ones?

By the way, FWIW, I vote that if you want to include the Nashorn then go ahead. 10 years head start isn't compensation enough (but it's Tigerman's call, of course).

There's an Italeri PzJg I at www.rareplanedetective.com

Alternatively, you could get a Tristar Panzer 1, and scratch the gun shield. I *THINK* that Squadron sell Aber's 47mm. What more could you want?

Hmm. I just searched Squadron for "aber" and 1:35 scale.

There are about 5 Aber PE sets for the Italeri PzJg I, each around the $20 mark, and there IS a 45mm barrel, at about $5.

So, go for it.

Nah. I'm admittedly not much of a scratcher, and the tracks would need to be replaced, so the costs contiue to go up. I had the old Italeri Pzjager I and it lacked alot of details. It started life as I believe a Zvezda kit. This is why I was hoping Dragon or Tristar would release a newly tooled one. Bound to be accurate and good-to-go.

I too might leave off the schurzen. They are nice, but I can see the microscopic 64 bolts go flying through the air.

That doesn't look as bad as I thought It'd be, I think I'll try this one out, with some research, and maybe some try at some scrathing, I think I'll be able to pull this one off.

Like brews said, it's acceptable for the GB. The M-10, M-36, as well as your M-18 Hellcat are all open-turret TD's. You are in luck.

Well, we did achieve 20 pages before the GB started. Congratulations and good discussion so far.

I did manage to wash down my sprues, so tomorrow after work, I intend to get some parts glued. 

the tracks are fair, but simplistic.

g'luck, cant wait to see this one tackled by someone else!
