They're actually pretty good about it as long as it's a fairly modern kit. I've gotten missing/damaged parts replaced 3 times and bought extras twice, with no problems

I've been working on one lately, too, but you know me... it has fruils, a million brass parts and won't be finished till next year...

Well to get replacement parts I did go to Dragoncare.com.Even thought the kit was discountitnued they had the parts I needed from there Stug IV early kit.They sent me the insturctions to that kit and asked what parts I needed.Told them the numbers and gave them my address and the parts are on there way.They will be here sometime next week.

 Now I need some help in my marder II,I am looking for some interior pics so if anyone has some or know what site I can see to look at the interior,I would be thankfull,Digger.

Yes indeed, Bruce, but I can't read and understand US-format dates, remember. I thought the build had started on the 2nd of January.....

As to the camo scheme, it's one of the two options given in the kit instructions. I'd not seen it before, but I'm giving Dragon's researchers the benefit of the doubt. Plus, there are several reviews of the kit in print and on the net, and no-one's shot the camo down in flames.

And as to progress, while the basic build and colour scheme is done, I'm now doing detail parts, figures (three therof) and weathering. This, for me, is always a time-consuming stage, involving layers of Future which have to be left to cure, oil washes, and oil paints for faces. Still a good fortnight's work to come.

One thing - yesterday, I painted the shell cartridges. I wanted a good golden sheen, and would have used Tamiya acrylic X-12 Gold Leaf, but my LHS was out of stock, so I used Revell Aqua acrylic instead. I'd not tried spraying these paints before (though they're good for brush-painting) and the first two or three coats (over a yellow base coat) were very thin and patchy.

However, so long as I gave each coat at least 15 minutes to dry, over the course of some six or seven coats, I was able to build up a good, solid, sheen, which looked good, especially after a couple of coats of Future. Piccies to come.

Alright Tigerman, I think I'm going to pull the Dragon Stug III G out of the stash for this GB. It's the 75mm Sd.Kfz 142/1. Wanted to double check with you first though, I know it's been rough on you setting the guidelines and all.

Well, here is where I am stuck for the moment.

Off for the night taking the girls on an Adventure Guides overnight to the waterpark.  60 screaming 8 year olds!!

so here is a picture of the damage... will work on this later in the week.

One note:  i was happy with the wheels.  I used the circle template method and they came out great with very little effort.

But I have a do over on the upper hull!

Larry, what took you so long? Glad to have you aboard.

As for me? Goodness, every piece has about 3-5 connectors. It's been endless snip, snip, file, file, and putty, putty. I didn't expect so much of everything. I believe this is an older Early version that has newer pieces included to make it a late version.  Kinda dissapointed so far.

I feel isolated. I can only respond at work for now. Shhhhhhh. 

I finally got the chance to start on my Marder tonight.  As usual with Tamiya, it practically falls together.  Here's the progress thusfar:

I am aware that the viewing hatch is crooked, I'll be fixing that tomorrow.  After I figure out how to pry it off.

Nice start on the Marder Glamdring. Gotta love these kits. Build up to be fantastic looking vehicles and offer ample detail opportunities.

Well, I started in on build #2.

Tigerman - really wanted to go with something a bit different (and not already on GB the list!) so I'm going to crank out an Italeri 1/35 Semovente da 75/40. Italian tank destroyer based off of the...13/40 chassis I think? Whatever Italian tank it is that Plastic Cross posted up in the armor forum yesterday.

Should be pretty interesting, certainly nothing like it on my shelf as of yet.

EDIT - hmmmm...does this actually qualify? I had remembered one of the badge categories as "axis" but it's really "german". Verdict, GB leader?

I finished the construction.  I left off some smaller parts to avoid damage during the silly putty masking. 

I was disappointed with the minimal cast texture on the gun manlet, so I added my own using white out. 

btw, excellent progress guys!  And dupes, congrats on being the first to finish this group build!

Small update on my Jagdpanzer IV. Havent had much time lately to build, but I have gotten almost all the PE work done. I am really pleased with the build so far and feel as though this is some of my best work yet. Great looking builds everyone!!

I got a (very small) amount of work done on my Jagdpanzer...the hinged, workable hatches with working springs. I was pulling my hair out by the time I was done!

Must paint next week, must paint next week.... 

Such a good week end, my jadgtiger just got some improvement, damaged fender and the tracks.... can't wait for the next week end...

Update on the Nashorn. After applying decals, and giving the Future a few days to cure, I applied a burned umber oil wash this morning. Here are some piccies of the present state of play:

Meantime, steady progress on the crew figures continues. I'm just about to give them a flesh-tone oil paint base for the hands and faces. I'll go over the vehicle itself again, giving oil pin washes where I think it's needed, then wait a day or so, and apply a few coats of Mattcote.

Wow, lots of good work all around! Chris Hall, you're a far more patient man than me...I skipped the interior of the ammo bin on my Hornisse - that PE was giving me fits!

Got a bit of work done on number two (the Semovente Da 75/18 M40), can't believe this wee Italeri kits comes with an interior! It's pretty rudimentary, but it's nice that they at least put out the effort. Wish more companies (Tamiya! Dragon!) would give it a shot, at least.

dupes - very nice job as usual! You crank out builds in the time it takes me to wash sprues ;)

Glamdring - nice start on the Marder, I have that kit inthe stash, will be following your build for hints and info :)

DHM - Looks sharp, great idea on using white out for texture... another "tip" I wrote down and will use in the future.

Jester75 - Wow, nice job, a LOT of PE!

frangkly - damage looks great! Did you just heat the plastic and molded it ?

chris hall - Great paint jobs for sure...another set of pics going into my reference folder..

Yes, I say include it, just for the sake of having it. It's probably debateable, much like the StuGs. It was used against armor and played undoubtedly an important role in anti-tank defense.
