scott - thanks for the pics, I also saved them... and great start to your build!

moose421 - nice clean build! Kit looks very nice, good details... I ditto the query about which M10 kit is better

Cruzr - I feel your pain! but this second effort looks much better! ... Im sticking with monochrome for the time being, till I get better at camo patterns..

Tigerman  good point on the fire extinguisher.  Didn;t think at the time, going to repaint it OD.

The AFV kit has gone together remarkably well.  One downside that I found is the injector pin marks.  The noticable places are on the sponson plates under the ammo storage.  Also the pin marks are on the inside of the turret.  Both the bottom when looking down and the inside walls.  One track lenght was twisted and was a total pain to get on.  I just think I had a bad one, as the other was fine.  The fit was great and only had minor filling on the back plate of the upper hull.

Will finish the weathering tonight and then will try the figure and stowage kits.

In case you all haven't knowed, my hetzer got ruined this weekend, I did the doog weathering tutorial with the artise paint from my bro, but it got ruined. too much paint on the spots and when i tried to wipe it off with paint thinner, it just peels the acylic paint of the camo. now it looks awful. So much for the contest.

Ok, I just picked up Trumpeter's 1/35 USMC LAV-AT (Light Armoured Vehicle-Anti Tank) and I am now wondering if I could enter it in this GB, as it does meet the main guideline:

• Any non-MBT vehicle that was designed to be a tank-killer

Heres a pic of the box-art.

So would it be ok?

here's the Elefant all finished. light wash of dark brown, and a light coat of Tamiya buff for dust on the bottom halfs of the hull. I'm very pleased with how she turned out and once again thanks to tiger-man( really wish i knew your name lol ) and Scott with your help with the camo.

Eric with a "C". Cruzr, much better on the camo. The weathering really makes it work too. Touche. Hope you had some fun. Don't forget to collect the badge from page 1.

Cruzr -- great job on the Elephant, now it really looks the part! For me it's the subtlty of the camo that makes it -- understatement is more. Great work!

When my reference materials arrive I'll get back to my StuG III, with a better idea of procedures in the run through to the paintshop. I must say I've enjoyed the build so far and look forward to a spectacular addition to my collection.

if i remember it is a 370 or somthing like that and the tip is black 40mm Acylic.  I bought it awhile back, here is the kit from testors website

Another imageless update on my Dragon 1:72 Su-100. (Sorry, I must get the camera out and prove I am doing something!)

Just finished the filter dot method on the fighting compartment sides. Next up is addition of dust and earth sods on the tracks. (I am waiting on my first two bottles of MIG pigments from the UK to arrive).

All the while, trying to lock down some rather nebulous ideas of what to do with a base.

I need to download my software for my new camera. Just too lazy.

I've done most everything for now, just need to glue the top and bottom hulls together and do some putty surgery.

Almost half-way through the GB, and I need to pull finger.

I made a brass screen replacement for the solid Injection-moulded kit item.  I will add some "structure" to it later.

Not that I am being critical of the folks at Aberdeen, but that thing needs some weathering to look right.  A pinwash. Some dot weathering.  Maybe some chipping with the hairspray method.  Though, I suppose it would be a be-atch to get a can of hair spray that big.

I made a lot of progress on my Tamiya Stug III Ausf. G today.  Tomorrow I install that remaining hatches, clean up all the road wheels and start laying some paint on this puppy! 

Looks great so far Scott. Hope you got some grills for her.

I got the top mated to the bottom. Almost ready to paint.

I checked all my usual online stores and no one has them in stock for the Tamiya kit.  Grill screens really add a nice touch to the final look.  I may swipe the ones from my Dragon kit if they fit and just order replacements since I won't be building the DML kit for a while yet.  Kudos to DML, they usually provide those... that's a shame because the Tamiya kits are so well engineered, but they don't give you any of the goodies.

I feel your pain. I had to buy them for my Tamiya Pz III L. Add another $9 to the near $40 price and ouch! Dragon provides so much more fore less.
